Iris pumilla

This is a lovely little bearded iris that I came across at one of our local HPS group meetings last year.
The RHS states:-
‘’I. pumila is a compact, rhizomatous, bearded iris to 15cm tall with slightly glaucous, widely sword-shaped leaves 3-15cm long. In mid-spring, a 1cm long flower stem bears 1-2, long-tubed flowers, each 2.5-5cm wide. Flowers are variable in colour from violet-purple, blue to yellow or white with most having a darker spot pattern on the falls and yellow or blue beards’’.
I am delighted with the two in flower at the moment. Bridging the gap from the bulbous reticulate and the taller bearded Iris that are forming buds but won’t open for a week or two.
The whole plant: this one is Little Shadow
A close up of the flower.
This is Star of Africa.
Does any one else grow these little gems?

I have some Iris. Every year they try moving out of the border into the lawn. I wonder if they jump up and down at night.
Once established they are quite hardy

Not yet but I think they'll have to be added to my list for sure, I especially like the white Star of Africa.
