Continuing the weeding.

Over the last 2 days I have half filled the brown recycling bin and 2 large green sacks.
A section of the front border, full of Acanthus, Saponaria creeping sow-thistle and couch grass.
I have reduced the Acanthus by 2/3 and the Saponaria by 4/5 and hopefully got all the other weeds out.I lifted lots of plants and cleared the weeds from the roots and replanted them.
Still have atrocity corner to tackle. There is a Cornus that needs a really good thinning out.
Garden was chilly today but too hot with my fleece but too cool in just a t shirt. The cloud continued to thicken but apart from 30 seconds worth of rain there was nothing of worth.
Hubby Steve called me through to the back garden to show me an egg on the grass. Probably a wood pigeon egg but what was odd was there was no shell at all. Felt really weird when I picked it up.
No gardening tomorrow as we are going on a motorbike ride to Louth. Not sure why but it will no doubt include lunch out or at least cake and coffee.

Gosh I bet that was a toughie but well worth it Seaburn, sometimes it takes digging everything up when the weeds are entangled in the roots, I had that to do last year but pleased to say it was successful for me, hoping you get the same result, apart from potting on inside the g'house my gardening is on hold, its too flipping cold, I feel it more these days.. Enjoy your trip out, you've earned it..

it was 'flipping' cold today too. Eve with thermals and 2 other layers I was chilly on the back of the bike.

It's been cold here as well Seaburn. You have worked really well there and a day out will be just what you need!
We like Louth and often go to the market on a Wednesday.

Well done, SBG! đź‘Ź Your plants will look so much better in the summer & should grow better after having the weeds cleared out!
Hope you enjoyed your day out as well!
Been cold here all day today & we are forecast lower temps for tomorrow as well.

There’s nothing more satisfying than standing back to survey the results of your hard work. A great job done there Eileen.
