so are the weeds!
I was away last week and I couldn’t believe how much has come on, including the weeds. Many are self sown Hesperis and Nigella, but there are the baddies too: nipplewort, sowthistle, goosegrass and willow herbs.
But there are plenty of pretty plants too.
Irises are doing well at the moment.
Iris siberica ‘Tropical Nights’ and the next one with more detail.
Iris Jane Phillips, a lovely scented one.
This was sold as Black Dragon but I am not 100% sure it is. Its is a lovely dark velvety one.
flower detail.
Self sown yellow flag. How it is in the front garden when the pond is in the back……
A couple of group photos of plants that are growing together in the borders.
A blue mingle, Corydalis Spinners, Centaurea and other foliage.
A red themed bit, Primula Millers Crimson and Astrantia major Gill Richardson
Detail of Gill Richardson.
Clematis Niobe has been very floriferous this year. the whole thing and then flower detail.
Now several years ago hubby bought me an Edwardian gold brooch of a Lady’s mantle leaf with a pearl in the middle. A perfect version in my garden today, inspirational literally.
Lots more but this is long enough. Hope you and your garden are doing well.

Loving all the Iris Seaburn, there are so many different shades of the blues, we are spoilt for choice, I'm hoping my yellow one in the top pool flowers for me this year, if not I'm going to have to split it, now that will be fun as I've filled the pool up, lol, I cannot get the blue Corydalis to work here, I bought new and had plants given to me many times without success, I always admire it ,somethings work and others just don't, shame as its a its a lovely colour..
Good growing weather for us, sunshine and showers, the way I see it, if the weeds don't grow then nothing will....

Yes, nothing stops the weeds. Your irises are special. I wish I could get my Sibiricas to grow like that. Ditto, 'Niobe'. Your camera is a good one, great photos.

Everything looks so colourful and thriving too!
Probably due to the rain, but at least you didn't have to worry about your borders while you were away Seaburn!
I just love your Irises!

Ditto to Roses comment. Glad that you have had some rain. We have had a little but really need a good downpour to really soak in.

Its in the ground Julia and gets sun all day as it is at the front of the front garden.
I love Iris and try to have something in that genus doing something most of the year.
