Post still getting through.

Tonight when I finally got in from work [40 mins instead of the normal 15mins] there was a parcel propped against the back door.
The first to emerge were 3 very frozen asphodel lutea and apart from being very cold they look to be in good condition.
The second box produced this pot.
This is a firm but dormant Aconitum ‘pink sensation’. It is in a good size pot and I have a lot of hopes for this plant.
The final box delivered up this lovely osmanthus.
I do have the full name written down in my plant book and when I have the time I will add these plants to my GoY plant profile.
So well done to the delivery people who managed to get through the snow to leave these plants for me.

That's great service, Sbg. We haven't had any post for two days. I can't understand why not today, when we managed to get to town safely.
When are you expecting your Chelone obliqua? I rdered my crocosmia corms and an Enkianthus campanulatus from the RHS catalogue yesterday - they're going to take 4 weeks, which is fine by me!

I dont know when chelone will arrive. I sent them a message saying it was missing from the box. I took photos [obviously] of the package before i opened it just in case there were any problems.
Thats a nice onion amble.

Just looked up the aconitum - what a beautiful plant! The osmanthus looks lovely and healthy. Have you grown asphodeline lutea before. They're easy from seed if you collect it - like tiny little pyramids.

I really do think the postmen are brilliant to deliver as much as they do in these awful conditions. Our's still somehow manages to come with his bike, which he has to push much of the time. I feel very grateful to all the services which keep going with dedicated people.

I didn't see our postman when he came yesterday but when I saw him before Christmas during the first dump of snow he was still wearing his shorts!

Nice surprise for you.

thanks for that informaion wagger, i will certainly look out for the seed.I'm glad most of them were 'cold' as it means they are right at home in my outplace.
Our postie is still on his bike for some of it. Hubby still using his for a 20mile round trip to work and back. I think he is mad.
