Another little Iris.

Just like Spritzhenry, I really like the small Iris reticulata types.
As I was walking around the market stalls in Beverely today I came across these. Just £1.20 a pot of 4, so I couldn’t resist.
This is D.S.Dijt.
Very similar in overall colour to Purple Gem but this has more yellow on the falls rather than the blue of Purple Gem.
My Katherine Hodgkin have gone on to double up in just one year. They were bought for me in September 98 as part of my 50th birthday present. They all flowered last Feb and havent disappointed this Feb either.
I have a lovely Daphne in the side of the garden and I notice that amongst the weeds, still waiting to be removed, there is a blue iris.
Dont remember planting it and if I did it was 10 years ago. Problem is, is it Harmony or Joyce? Or is it something else?
This is a pot I have had for about 5 years now. I think these are Harmony.
Although not a reticulated Iris, I love this sunny yellow one I. danfordia.
Like Spritzhenry I am keeping my eye open for the little gems that are out there.

I have been looking for pots of these to buy but have not seen any :o(
I like them but this is the first year I've had any success with them.
They look nice all together in your pot.

I thought £1.20 was a bit steep so that makes me feel better.
Joanella you are not alone. Hubby hasnt noticed these yet. Mind you they get slotted into nooks and crannies on the paths around the greenhouse until they get planted out.
Hywell you can often get them from august onwards in packs. I would certainly plant them no later than september as they dry out too much and then dont do as well. I didnt get to buy them in the autumn so this is the alternative. well worth it.
glad we coud tempt you N2.
