Glad I was too lazy.

Like many, we suffered with prolonged snow and temperatures well below freezing over a long winter.

I too have lost plants. But from adversity good can come.
The Ceanothus ‘Edinbrough’ split its bark and is very dead. I couldnt face digging it out so being lazy I trimmed the thinner branches off and planted Clematis ‘Niobe’ to grow through it.

Then I turned my attention to the pots of dead Salvia ‘Newby Hall’. I was asked to shift them off the back sitting area by hubby a month ago. But you know how it is, shopping to do, washing and ironing to get through and plant fairs to wander around.

Well who is a happy bunny now? Not just because I shopped, washed and ironed and shopped for plants at Harrogate but…

I have growth on the Salvia. Yippee.

I am so glad I didnt ‘obey’ hubby. Mind you I am not likely to change my habits after 27yrs of marriage :o)

Quite right - never obey anyone lol.

It pays to wait a long time with 'dead' plants I think. They often surprise me.

Every year I think Mrs. Popple has breathed her last - but no, suddenly shoots appear, so now I hang on to everything for ages, just in case. Glad you have new growth on the Salvia S'girl.x

Glad to see your plants coming back to life, sbg.

In Cardiff we had lots of cold weather so I can imagine what it must have been like in Yorkshire.

Lets hope its 30 years before the next bad winter :))

PS is Clem Niobe a hardy one?
