Tidy up

Such a lovely day today got myself in gear and decided to tidy up the pots in the ‘courtyard’, (not really a courtyard, just the driveway behind the big gates!!) i hadn’t looked at the pots since autumn and was surprised to see the Clematis’ i have there were all sprouting, cut some of them down to tidy them up, topped up compost and removed the weeds (why do the weeds always survive?), i repotted a couple of them as roots were growing out the bottom!!

This is one of the Clematis lost its label so not sure what it is, i’m guessing it’s an early one by the amount of growth on it, it could be ‘Flamingo’, i know i have one in a pot!!
I hosed down the driveway and it looks so much better now, can’t wait for the pots to come to life!

I heard a lot of cawing when i was out there and turned to see some crows in next doors Silver birch tree, what a noise! don’t see them round here usually.

Rocky was worn out after his walk and running round the garden ‘helping’, which involved bringing me his ball to throw!!

It's so hard playing with "mom" in the garden...lol It was a nice surprise for you to find your clematis beginning to put out new growth :)

It sure is nice to have the sunny, dry days to begin doing gardening. Enjoy, SK.

It's been sunny & dry down here too ... what a difference it makes to people & plants! Like you we have seen Crows flying around for days ... usually 3 or 5 of them ... very unusual for us. Wonder why?

They are predators, Shirley, and sadly they are probably on the lookout for the nests of other birds! :o(

I'm pleased you were able to do all that Pat, and that your clematis is surviving. I think they are pretty tough things. I have difficulty killing them off. Mine are sprouting now too, and even the ones that look a bit week - they are also sprouting :)
My weeds have all survived aswell so you're not alone there lol.
Nice to know Rocky helped. You both deserve a nice rest now :o))
Oh we have lots of crows here, they nest in the chimneys :o(( Horrible things they are. Magpies and seagulls too :o(( and Jack Daws :o((

Good job Rocky took his boots off before getting into bed, SK! We've had a couple of days of sunshine but very hard frosts first thing in the morning. You've made a good start, hopefully I will be able to do the same soon.

Good work SK! So nice to see things coming up isn't it? Your dog looks like he has really worked hard. I had a laugh looking at how he managed to get all his legs 'stowed' away into his bed before he fell asleep.
