Parents garden

Been to see my parents today, dad is 84 and mum is 82 they have a man goes to cut the grass but the rest they manage themselves. My father has to sit in his scooter as his legs are bad and he’s as deaf as a post bless him! My mother has just been diagnosed with osteoporosis in her hip and lower back and has a ‘cronky’ knee, they put me to shame the garden is lovely. It had been landscaped before they bought it and is planted with lots of shrubs which make it easy to keep but nonetheless they still do well.
I took some photos of the garden whilst they were having an afternoon snooze!!!
Up the driveway is a little border where dad has planted Clematis and lillies plus some more shrubs, there are blackcurrant bushes near the shed that mum makes the most delicious jam from, only 3 bushes but she gets pounds of currants!
On the patio there are pots full of bizzie lizzies, petunias, lillies (one called ‘pretty girl’ that they bought when my daughter was born) 2 patio roses which are gorgeous this year
They also get quite a few birds on the feeding station which they can watch from the conservatory, i was watching 2 coal tit fledglings waiting for the parent to get food for them, lazy things they were quite big and well able to feed themselves!!! (reminds me of my daughter LOL)
My love of gardening comes from them and my maternal grandfather which i thank them all for.
