Spot the difference!

I went on line to buy Heucheras and Tiarellas, but couldn’t remember the name of Vicki’s (GoYer) website. So I ordered some from Heucheraholic, and then remembered that her website is Plantagogo! I wonder if you can tell which group is from which website?!
Before I started this blog, these were the right way up – sorry!
Then naturally – before the sleet started(!) I had a quick look around the garden.
Snowdrops under the weeping birch (Betula Pendula Youngii)
Hamamellis (Witchhazel) against the threatening sky
View down the garden today.
Took this one earlier this month to show the DownUnderlings while they were on their way to the beach in 35 degrees in Melbourne.
Roll on Spring!

You're very kind, Sue - I'm so looking forward to doing some work out there when the sun shines (no - not really - they like it hot!).

I've had some wonderful plants from Vicky over the years. She also came and gave a talk to my local HPS group and brought lots of lovely plants with her.

I think the second group are from Vicky. They all look lovely. Your Witch Hazel looks huge! Lovely snowdrops too Sheila! I look forward to my trees maturing like your are. :)

You have such a lovely garden Sheila and the lawn looks beautifully mown.......if only ours did too!!
The witch hazel is a beauty and the snowdrops look very happy where they are.

Your garden is very inviting with that rich green grass.

Yes, Vicki's good isn't she, Seaburn, and luckily the plants from the other site are also looking healthy - however the packing from Plantagogo was brilliant!
Thank you Karen, Chris and Bathgate for your friendly comments . . . Karen, I thought you'd be likely to 'spot the difference', and you are quite right!

Yay! ;)

Speaking of Heuchs...I have lost a couple again this winter. They seem to get mould. I'm not sure why some do and others thrive, but I have a good collection now, soI think I'll stick with what I have and propagate the best ones. I really don't like it when new plants die on me for no good reason. It could be slug damage....

That "view" down the garden is splendid Sheila, I adore your snowdrop patch too!

Gill!! Thank you . . . how are things in Greenwich these days? x

Karen - some varieties are tougher than others. 'Amber Waves' is a weakling apparently.

It looks good, Sheila. I have finally started getting my patch back into shape. I'm a bit hamstrung until green bin collections begin again but nevertheless am reaping lots of benefits from getting out and doing!

Yes. My Amber Waves died pretty much as soon as it arrived Andrew. Sad, it was beautiful!

I grew it in a pot and managed to keep it going for a few years by keeping it under cover during the winter. But the bad winter four years ago finally killed it off.

Pity. :(

Thanks Susanne . . . yes, it's great to be able to get outside and start 'doing things' :)

I love your garden Sheila, it looks so peaceful and calm in the snowless pic, well it does in the snowy pic too actually!
The quiet time before spring arrives, and the open aspect
is just what I would like my next garden to have....not that I'm having one anytime soon, just waffling.....:o) Anyhow its time for the finale of Broadchurch so have to fly.....
23 Feb, 2015
Thank you Janey . . . I am lucky, and isn't it lovely to think that Spring isn't too far away? When the cherry is in blossom I'll smile all day!
23 Feb, 2015
Well...thank goodness Broadchurch ended properly this time! ;) what a relief!

Hi Sheila, very well, thank you. Waiting for some warmth before venturing outside! Haven't been in the garden since October time, but it can wait, I'm in no hurry. Lol Trust you are keeping well too? x

Yes thanks Gill, I'm very well, and raring to go! Spent a happy hour in the greenhouse yesterday sowing alpine seeds (a new venture for me - they're like dust, lol). so much to look forward now that we're into March . . . x

Lovely garden Sheila. I wonder if the down underlings were envious of your weather?
