. . . these are just three that I forgot about yesterday!
Cercis siliquastrum

Aren’t we lucky, to be enjoying such a lovely autumn?!

Lovely coloured leaves, I prefer my leaves evergreen,on the wall shrubs, so I don't have to look at the roof of next door's shed!

Beautiful, I cannot wait until by Cercis and E alatus look as good as yours, still tiny. You have a beautiful home by the way.

We tried doing away with daylight savings time once....as I recollect Richard Nixon was our president. The problem was that the children were walking to school in the morning darkness and were getting hit by cars while crossing the streets (school crossing guards are not at every corner) . After two years of this carnage we went back to daylight savings time which will end for us on Nov 1st, after that, those children who walk to school or walk to get the schoolbus will be doing it in adequate light and they will be able to watch out for those inattentive texting drivers.

I quite agree, Loosestrife. I was in the NE for the three years that they experimented with keeping BST all year round. It was really dark in the mornings - very dangerous indeed, even though all the children were given high visibility bands to wear. It would have been safer to keep GMT all year round, but very unpopular - we are used to late summer evenings! I am quite content with the current system, and don't understand the big deal some people make of it. Compared with the upheaval to sleep patterns when we have children, it's a doddle!

We are indeed, Sheila - it's been a delight! A bit sad to lose that extra hour of evening light, though! ? You'd never find me voting against BST!
