to show the recent planting. I’d looked for a shallow dish for ages, and was delighted to find this fibreglass one (which means that I can lift it myself!). Planted with Phlox subulata Candy Stripe and Calabrachoa magenta.
Viburnum ‘kilimanjaro’ (favourite at Chelsea 2015)
Clematis Sieboldii
Pink border with seedlings of Gypsophilia ‘Kermestna’ (thank you Karen for the seeds!)
View across garden from the pergola seating area
View towards the pergola from corner bench
Hope you have all been enjoying the same sunny weekend as us here in the south of England :)

Love the way the lawns echo the curving paths.
Clematis seem to be doing well this June? We have problems growing them but the three that have survived are really good this year. (Thought at first yours was a Passion flower!) Really pretty!

Thanks Karen, you’re right . . . the seed packet was difficult to read. How are your seedlings coming on? I’m really looking forward to seeing the flowers.
Many thanks Eirlys - yes, several people think this Clem is a Passion flower!

They are really coming along now Sheila. About 8” tall and starting to branch a little bit. Not long before there will be flowers. And I saved half the packet for next year!

Hi Julia, I love Cornus controversa variegata and had a good one before, but think it might be a bit too big for this patch. Nice idea though :)
Thanks very much Eileen.

It all seems to have happened so quickly- its lovely and so very neat and tidy too... You were fortunate to find the fibreglass container - what a very good idea that is.

Thanks very much Dawn and Siris. The turf supplier assembles his orders in the evening, and cuts the necessary amount before having it driven overnight to London. He phones his customers to let them know, and our landscapers fetched the rolls at 6.00am . . . they started laying it at 8.30am and finished later that afternoon. We were so impressed!

Thanks Phyl. I know it looks a bit sparse, but so far we’ve planted 192 plants and 4 trees! Amazing how much space there is to fill, but I’m not in a rush :)

Wow! It looks great already! I love your planting Sheila. Gypsophilla ‘Kermesina’ I think. Same name as a Clematis, an Iris and also a Rose! I wonder why that is...
