I haven’t been on for a few days, and it will be a while before I catch up as we have to be in Cornwall next week for a funeral. But my garden keeps me smiling . . .

Thanks very much Honey. I love the Sweet Rocket . . . it also comes in white, and will happily seed itself around.

Absolutely lovely garden, and sunshine too! :)

It looks lovely, Sheila. I like the beds on either side of the near end of the path and the planting to the right of the greenhouse. It makes a “journey” to the end of the garden, where it looks as if the path might just be continuing to somewhere else. Actually, is it?

Many thanks Callie, Marjorie, Karen and Mel . . . in fact Mel the path just leads to a bench, but it's painted black so you can't quite see it in the photo!

that is a wonderful space, you must be so pleased with it. I have a pale pink hesperis too as well as the white and lilac form. they do self seed very freely [too freely!]
hope the trip to Cornwall goes as well as can be expected under the circumstances.

Looking lovely shiela, plenty of color going on, it’s lovely to see a garden with hedges rather than fence panels and that meandering path I love, do you have a seating area in the far corner?

I must love that meandering brick path.... it is my intention ( one day) to break up my lawn doing just that!

Thanks very much Eileen, yes, we’ll be relieved when it’s all over.
Thank you Julien - just a bench in the far corner, but a proper seating area under a pergola near the house (see previous blogs/photos!).
Thanks Amsterdam . . . hope you succeed, we love it.

All looks lovely Sheila, your lawn looks well manicured too! I do love your viburnum, I have two myself, but this one has very pretty flowers!

Thanks Kate. I used to love my Viburnum mariesii in my previous garden which was bigger - it would be too big for our current space. This one was Plant of the Year at Chelsea about four years ago, and the scent is better!
Which two do you have?

Its looking good. Seems only about a year ago that you began it all...

Your garden is beautiful ... I love the way the path meanders around :)

Thank you so much Sue - we started planting in May last year - so you’re right!
Thank you very much Hywel 🙂

So many beautiful things would keep me smiling too Sheila. I love how a new plant settles into the landscape as if it belongs there. It all works well together.

I love your garden Sheila, the design and your choices when it came to the planting, I think what makes it special is the fact we have seen it all progress right from the start and now it's flourishing...

Wow - thank you both for your lovely comments, Paul and Sue 🙂🙂

Lovely kind comment, Feverfew, thank you!

Hi Sheila, I’ve got quite a big viburnum tinus “Laurustinus” in the front garden, acting as a large hedge, which flowers late Winter through Spring.
The other is in the back garden, I bought it a couple of years ago, it’s also a tinus, but it’s called “Lisarose” which has deep brick red flower buds which open to pinkish white flowers through mid-winter to mid-spring.

Good choices Kate - those are both very reliable 🙂

The garden looks stunning, the plants happy and healthy and the lawn immaculate! I especially like the Sweet Rocket, might have a go at growing that.
