Our neighbourhood

Inspired by Anget and Hywel, I took my camera for a stroll late this afternoon, hoping to catch some sunshine. I’m sorry that I don’t know the variety of these pretty trees.
Possibly Linden tree for Klahanie
Our road (trust me to do this on ‘rubbish’ day!
Two minutes from our house, a farmer’s field
Our local pond, my usual destination for a walk
Autumn is not so bad on days like today :)

You live in a very attractive street, Sheila, and the countryside walks nearby must be a tonic. The church across the field looks very "English Landscape", perhaps you could paint that as well as the glassy pond. I think, in periods like now when we are thrown back on ourselves, it does us good to create and enjoy beauty in our own gardens and recognise it in the traditionally beautiful sights (and sites) around us. Thank you for posting. Perhaps we could start a trend on here. It's fascinating to see the differences in the ares we all live in.

Thank you Angela - I think maybe you have already started a trend! It would certainly be interesting to see the different areas where we all live. Many of the streets in our town are tree-lined, and look even better when there are grass verges too ๐.

Stunning autumn colours on your lovely photos. The pond is an added bonus to your beautiful tree lined walk.

autumn is certainly drawing on her cloak isn't she. we also went for a walk today but a good drive first. We went to Goathland and if you remember the 60's inspired tv drama Heartbeat that is Aidensfield. We walked to one of the local water falls. sunny and mild but I didn't take a camera.

You have some lovely trees along the roads. I don't know what they are but there are similar ones in our local town and they look colourful every autumn.
It's nice to live near a pond, it looks a lovely place to walk to, and that's a pretty view with a church in the trees.
You have posh bins lol they're an attractive colour :)

Thanks Amy, Yorks and Waddy ... yes, the colours this autumn are far more vivid than I remember from previous years ๐.

What a joy to live there, it looks peaceful and tranquil, autumn has always been my favourite season, I so look forward to this time of year, the myriad colours of all the leaves that fall slowly on a gentle breeze to cover and colour harsh tarmac, with scatterings below the parkland trees their final testing place amongst the silver dew, you have taken some nice pictures, I do like the farmers gate where I could daydream for a while , watching the clouds go by and be at peace.

Thanks very much Julien, Josee and Owd ... I do feel quite lucky that we live right on the edge of our town, so can walk in these peaceful places.

Thank you. Yes, the pond is a popular destination Julia, for fishermen particularly. I saw a kingfisher here last year and a heron this summer. Maybe I will attempt a painting . . .
