Unbelievable value!

I popped out to my favourite local GC this morning, hoping to find some Nemesia and something colourful. Success! – this little tray of 10 plants cost the princely sum of £12.79, so I’m a happy bunny!

2 Petunia, 1 Viola ‘columbine’ and 6 Nemesia, various

Blue Phlox subulata plus Anemone

The nemesia are wonderful I managed to get some too as plugs that I have had to grow on. They are now hardening off.

Your garden is looking fresh and ready for summer. Acer corner looks wonderful. I need a nice pot for my little red one I've grown from seed.

Thanks very much Eileen. Wow - growing an Acer from seed must have taken a while?

I really like your Spring garden, full of delicate shades. The acers are beautiful.

What a lovely collection of ‘bargain’ buys! Very pretty Sheila.
Your garden is looking beautiful. From the very springlike front to the lovely ornamental grasses planted out - thank you for posting the anemanthele! Yours looks great!
The golden sedge looks fab planted in cobbles! So bright and lush.
I’m loving you very enviable acer corner! Looks so ‘zen’.
The little acer has a pretty shaped leaf. Looks a bit like the one in my front garden...

Many thank Kate. I love your use of the word ‘Zen’ as this is what I call my Japanesey area ... bonsai included 🙂. Your comments are much appreciated!

Many thanks Klahanie ... you’re very kind 🙂.

Sheila, I really am wishing I had an area to place cobbles and pebbles, plant grasses and Acers as yours looks superb! Oh well, I could always say to Michael 'I've had an idea'! . . . . .

Gosh, aren't your pebbles white.

Thank you Shirley ... yes, go for it. Maybe Michael would approve of the fact that the area is the lowest of low maintenance?! The ONLY thing I do is cut the deciduous grasses down in the spring ... and that’s it 🙂.

Sue, our designer wanted black pebbles but we didn’t! These are the most expensive we could find ... and I love them 🙂.

Sheila, now that really is low maintenance! I doubt I would make any major changes to the garden until the Autumn now, but a plan is forming in my head!!

Wow, you did really well with your GC buys Sheila, trowel at the ready then..:))
I do like your delicate pink primrose, it's lovely! And your blue phlox, just lovely. I think these are your colours..:)
Acer corner is beautiful, a lovely place for quiet moments. x

Great bargain! your Acer look marvellous! how simple could it be - plant some grasses in a pebble surround & "Bobs your uncle, etc."! 👏😂

Janey, thank you. The pink primrose is a Barnhaven primrose ... yes, a bit special 🙂. You’re right, I am drawn to pastel colours and am loving the blue phlox - glad you like it too. Lovely comments. x

Balcony, thanks, I’m a simple soul 🙂.

You got a bargain with that little lot. I find that Nemesia survives the winter if it is not too cold & builds up into quite nice clumps. Not this winter though, as mine have died off, so replacements needed. I love your Acers also & I think I must buy some nice grasses too for my bog standard gravel!

Thanks Josee, hope you find some more Nemesia, they’re lovely 🙂.

I love the effect of the white stones with the sedges - very calming.
