Some more random photos!

I haven’t made a very good plan of succession this year … plenty of plants looking GREEN, which should be flowering in a few weeks time. So just trying to find some colour today.
I do like the Violas
Inherited Peony
Saponaria
Mini Silene
Cornus Eddie’s White Wonder with Phlox subulata ‘Emerald’ (looks blue!), Phlox chattahoochee, and Phlox Clouds of Perfume (both blue).
Yesterday was wonderfully warm and sunny, and I thought today would be the same … morning was lovely, but in the afternoon it started to rain on the croquet lawn. We carried on getting damper and damper! Why do I believe everything I read?!

I think your ‘random’ pics are just lovely Sheila! Your borders are brimming with lush planting too. The violas are very pretty and your acer looks very nicely shaped. The lilac is full of lovely colour and that peony! It’s a beauty - what beautiful big blooms - love the colour too! Looks a deep pinkish red?
I’m sorry you were rained on during your croquet session!!!! Sounds like that tough spirit carried on despite the weather! Have to agree, our local weatherman said we’d be dry all day today - and it rained this flyer on here...watching the local news now, they have more or less criticised him - sort of in a ‘jokey’ manner!!!

Really nice. Great to see the garden enjoying the sunshine.

Thank you Eileen ... sorry you got wet too 🙂.
You’re very kind, Kate! Yes the peony is a deep pinky red, quite a true colour on here, and the dwarf lilac is one of my few fragrant shrubs.
Thanks Linda.

I really like all your garden photos here.
The mini silene are so sweet and the peony is such a lovely colour. The last photo is such a good one and really captures the feel of your garden, I do like the bench by your wall and the comfy chairs!

Your borders look very full, Sheila, and I like your soft shades. It all looks well-co-ordinated. The phloxes are pretty together.
I've virtually given up listening to the weather. It's very rarely spot-on, and quite often a long way off! OH is always glued to the reports but I reckon at the moment it's easier to wait and see what the day brings. We seem to have 10 different lots of weather in the same number of hours...

Actually there is plenty of colour Sheila! Plenty of blue too which I reckon is very important, lol. That perfect lawn makes a good foil for the rest - you must put lots of work into keeping it like that!

Thank you Sue for your lovely comments. Well, the lawn isn’t a lot of work at all ... OH cuts it in 10 minutes and then sits back and admires it!

Lowly garden Sheila. I like the Saponaria, such a lovely splash of pink. Everything is looking nice & lush, the lawn sets it all off beautifully.

a lovely blog Sheila and some lovely plants and combos. I love the Rubra Plena paeonies but they don't appreciate the rain.
We were told 1% chance of rain, so went out on the motor bike. 5 mins of torrential rain got us very wet and chilly. Sunny so dried out nicely until 3 miles from home it rained again! Forecaster said 0% chance of rain.
Why is it they are wrong when they forecast sun but 100% spot on when they forecast rain.
