A pleasant surprise ...

… to see some plants in bloom after we had been away for two weeks. Apparently it only rained once, but we were lucky to have good friends and neighbours who came to do some watering.
So glad to see Clematis Sieboldii
Hibiscus trionum (from seed) with Petunia Tidal Wave
Malva moschata Alba
Perennial Sweet Pea (no fragrance)
Carex elata Aurea (Bowles Golden Sedge)
It has now rained with a vengeance, and I have plenty of clearing up and tidying to do. I am being kind to you, and not showing the disaster area which was my ‘wild’ patch!
Verbena Burgundy? Not sure what else it could be!

Welcome back! I hope the holiday was refreshing. You had a great selection of pretty plants waiting for you. Your hibiscus is unusual, one I have never heard of.

Thank you Ange. A few gardening friends were here yesterday, and they hadn't seen this annual Hibiscus before either.
It was fantastic to be in the French Alps with the granddaughters, all swimming every day ... fun but exhausting!

Sheila, that would be lovely, thanks. Would you care for some Nigella (Love-in-a-mist) seeds ... I may have asked this before!

Sheila, hope you've had a wonderful holiday! It sounds like a fantastic time with the family!
You've returned to some beautiful blooms in your
garden. I agree, your first pic us a very attractive clematis plus the hibiscus is a pretty subtle colour. Back to gardening I'm guessing, catching up with everything.

Many thanks Kate. Not much gardening in this heat β¦ quite a lot of resting! ( The holiday was great fun but exhausting for this βoldβ lady π)

Good to hear you had a good, if exhausting, time Sheila!
That first Clematis is lovely! The white Hibiscus must really glow in the evening twilight hours!

Oh Sheila I cant believe your fortnight is already over, that seemed to go so quickly from this end!
You've some lovely garden plants in flower though. I do love your clem, it's such a show off, haha.. The hibiscus is such a pretty shade and I bet the white malva really glows at dusk.
Good to have you home again..:)) x
