Well it’s a peaceful Sunday here Shirley. I’ve been broadcasting a few seeds thankful for last night’s heavy rain!

We have lots of signs of fall around here too Shirley_tulip.
It brings some lovely colours of leaves and berries like in your pictures.

My Sunday has been fine Shirley thank you, I hope you've had a good day too ...
Nice autumn photos :)

Sheila, we were forecast heavy rain/thunder/lighting but all we had was some light rain!

Klahanie, the Rose hips were so glossy, lovely to see them.

Hywel, we just came back from a few days away and found a mass of bird feathers in the garden, plus something has been digging 'craters' in the flower borders. No idea what creature it might be ... I have put some metal grid stuff with a housebrick on the top where the biggest 'crater' is and will be annoyed in the morning if it has been moved!

A lovely blog, Shirley, to celebrate the changing seasons!

Thanks David.

Eileen, Autumn Equinox yesterday, Christmas scenes already in a local garden centre today which really makes me cross!

Also, I think the 'crater' and other holes in the garden may well be the work of a Hedgehog who, I think, is living within the log-pile! I can forgive him/her ... :o)

That's annoying about the craters Shirley, It happened to the little garden at the front of my garage and I had to put wire there to stop it happening again.

Lovely blog Shirley. My Sunday was very quiet so decided to start sowing some perennial seeds for next year.
A dismal damp day!

24 Sep, 2024

Hywel, did you ever find out what had caused the damage? I'm now convinced it's a Hedgehog as there were droppings this morning!

24 Sep, 2024

Well done on seed sowing Rose ... you've reminded me to buy some seed compost ... :o)

No, I never found the culprit Shirley. It could have been a hedgehog like with you, but the holes were rather large and deep so I blamed a neighbour's dog which 'escapes' sometimes.
I hope it hasn't happened for you again.

Hywel, no more holes that I have found but, and you won't like reading this, on the lawn this morning was the remains of a birds leg with a big talon, yuk!

I wonder if whatever killed it had hidden or buried it somewhere in the garden, not that my garden is really big enough for me not to have seen it.

Lovely pics, Shirley, looks like you had a pleasant walk on Sunday. Your blog has an Indian Summer feel....
I wish that was the case here today...cold and dull.

Oh that's horrible Shirley :(((

This comment should be on the next blog but I cannot delete it!!

Ange, it is here, Littlecote Roman Villa is an extensive and exceptional Roman villa, with associated religious complex, at Littlecote Park just over a mile west of Hungerford, Berkshire. It has been excavated and is on display to the public in the grounds of the estate.

I do love the autumn colours Shirley, our equinox was a very stormy wet one, mind you we got off lightly compared to others, I was relieved to get the rain until I saw the floods and the damage caused by the lightening we waited so long for it, we really are lucky here in my town, some of the floods are very close....

26 Sep, 2024

Hywel, it was really unpleasant and Michael bagged it up for the bin as I couldn't bear to!

26 Sep, 2024

I agree Sue, it's tragic when buildings and homes are flooded with filthy water. I hope I never experience it.

Happy Autumn Equinox! Lovely photos.

Thanks Bernie ... I saw yellow berries on the Pyracantha today and leaves are starting to fall so Autumn is well and truly here.
