Anisdontea El Rayo

I discoved this plant about 4 years ago. A member of the Mallow family, so floriferous, over a long period. It does need a sheltered position It grows so rapidly that the branches become quite lax, but responds to pruning.
This is my original plant, grown from a cutting from an HHPS friend, against the 6ft east facing fence. Cuttings root easily.
Pics taken 30 0ctober against a blue sky.
I have another plant in the front garden, same aspect, in front of Camellia Donation.
I took a 3" cutting recently which I think is now rooted (about 3 weeks) which I intend to try on the back garden fence next year. It was actually difficult to find a non-flowering side shoot for cutting material. I intend to cut the plant in the picture to the ground when it decides to finish flowering with a view to replacing it with Sophora davidii, which has white and pale blue flowers.

The Anisdontea is very pretty, I've never heard of it.

I think Monty Don mentioned it in his penultimate program this year.

Mine still has lots of flowers. Getting a bit spindly now but has gone on all year.

It looks a very attractive plant. I don't know it either.

Sue, it's quite similar to the mallow that's growing on our bund hill. Flowers for months!
Very similar habit too.
I wish you well with your Sophora Davidii. Fingers crossed.
