Still potty!

Hi all – I hope you’ve had at least some sunshine over the past few days. Today was a really sunny one, and I decided to take some photos of my containers to show you. It’s a follow-up to the blog I wrote back in November about what I plant in my pots and troughs.
Then…
Now.
Crocus ‘King of the Stripes’.
Then…
Now – with tulipa ‘Ancilla’ and Crocus ‘King of the Stripes’.
Tulipa ‘Ancilla’ open in the sun.
Then…
Now, with Tulipa ‘Ancilla’
Then…
Sadly, the cyclamen didn’t like the severe cold, so I put in some purple violas and a pink polyanthus instead.
Now, with Tulips and Narcissus ‘Tete a Tete’.
Sorry I can’t show you a ‘then’ for this pot – but it was a potful of purple pansies. Now Tulipa ‘Early Harvest’ is up and glowing with the sun shining through the deep orange flowers.
And here’s this spring’s gate trough, with amber violas, and Crocus sieberi which has amber at its base to match. There’s a little Euphorbia in there, too.
It’s fun being potty!

I was just looking at your last pot blog yesterday Spritzhenry as I have at last managed to get myself two Skimmia only £1 50 each in my local market. At the minute they are sharing a pot with some anemones till they get themselves established. I have tucked them in a sheltered corner as we are having heavy frost's at the minute. Your pot's are looking great full of colour :-)

Lovely pots, Spritz (no surprises there then...lol). The Skimmia work so well in the pots and it's lovely to have such a pretty variety of colour.

Ah....pics 5, 8 and 9 melted my heart! Lovely! Thanks for putting these on B, it really shows the effect of underplanting with bulbs. Yours are really far on.....I think you actually live in Jersey!! :))

Thank you all for your lovely comments - I do enjoy planning and putting colours together, I admit it! LOL.
Karen - you guessed my secret! I'm a millionaire really, and have a mansion in Jersey...The Somerset house is a second home. LOL, LOL. Some hopes! ;-/

lol! we can dream! That's the thing though B, it's your eye for a colour combo that is so inspiring. That deep dark purple pansy beside that pinkish cream tulip...perfect!

I love that little variegated skimmia, but having lost two last winter I don't think I'll get any more. They have them in the GC on sale and they all look as if they are on their last legs. Its perfect for winter pots though isn't it..pity! :(

You really have a talent for pots, I absolutely don't, so I'm in awe of yours! I especially love the purple pansies next to the cream tulip.

Thank you. I do love creating my potted displays! :-))

You inspire, madame! Thank you! Would love to see a video of the potting process. Are there any techy types on site who could arrange such? The tulips were really special...my fav is the daffs, though.

Oh Lori! You flatterer, you! ;-)
I'd hate being videoed. :-( I can explain in words, though. Didn't I do that in the previous blog on being potty?
I have yet more pots yet to burst into colour - I'll take their photos when they do.

Sorry B, no flattery intended...; - ) I was trying to visualize as you went along...and I think I got it all...but thought to myself how great a segment that would be for a gardening show...like show and tell...it would become the latest gardening fad and you'd be famous! lol...

LOL. As long as I was RICH as well as being famous! ;-)
