'Going Potty!'

‘Going Potty!’
I put my husband on the spot
“For Christmas I would like a pot!”
It has to be a special one
And finding it would be such fun.
I started out upon the net
But sadly, haven’t found one yet -
There’s plenty there, they cost a lot
But still I couldn’t see ‘my pot’
I drove around to take a look
At rows and rows – and snaps I took.
Too big, too small, the colour’s bad:
I’ve ended up with nowt – how sad!
My trip today – another no-no,
I came back home with a Leucothoe!
A Hebe too, but still no pot -
Not really asking such a lot?
Well, what is he supposed to say
To keep me happy on ‘the day’?
I’d like a Pieris in a pot!
And I’ll make sure it’s not forgot!
My new Leucothoe
Hebe ‘Louise’
P.S. “A voucher would do!”

I liked that one, as well - but it's almost a metre tall! I wanted the middle-sized version, as there was a little one too. They can't order one, as they came from Italy. :-(((
Glad you liked my poetic tale of woe! (sob, sob).
I'm not giving up yet, though!

You could give him a hint spritz and point him at the Witchford pottery website. Their pots come with a ten year frostproof guarantee

SIGH - I looked at that one, Andrew - nothing quite right, sadly. :-((

Good luck Spritz.. Have sent you a PM as we have spoken to some friends who are landscapers and there are several local places where you might hunt in our neck of the woods. Large pot manufacturers in the U.K tend to be incrededibly expensive.

lovely poem Spritz, I hope you find your pot.
Some of mine were bought to celebrate special occasions or meetings....wont go into details..but the memories are always there...
Do you find terra cotta last better than glazed pots/?
At least we dont get so many frosts as our northern friends! lol

I have a possibility that I saw today - at the place Grenville suggested! Husband approves of it in the photo I took - - so if he and I like it on a second viewing - that will be 'IT'!! Exciting, isn't it! :-)))

I'm investigating a Pieris 'Flaming Silver' specimen shrub - the Nursery can't supply it until Feb/March, though. I thought - white Erica round the base might look good! :-))))
