Oh those naughty plants ~ I blame GoY!

You would think that well behaved plants should sit quietly on their shelves where they were placed. They would not leap off and into trolleys unbidden!
It really is quite unforgiveable that shop after shop up and down the land appears to be having the same trouble ~ GoYers across the country report plants jumping into trolleys!
Here in the midlands there is no exception to this previously unknown phenomena ~ shoppers have found plants landing in baskets and trolleys almost unaided. Perhaps the plants have suddenly grown feet to enable them to jump?
And here is the evidence of today’s jumping plants ~ into my trolley and home to my garden:

Its not the jumping plants that bother me Sticki, it's the leaping fivers!!
8 Feb, 2011
Nice selection there Sticki.Glad you had a good day.The best kind..Your little cat looks well impressed too Lol.
8 Feb, 2011
Well done ! But I agree with Karen, its the fivers.
8 Feb, 2011
not too sure Minty approved ~ i put them on the table that she sits on! luckily they were all good prices karen [liked the leaping fivers!] ~ 3 for £10 and then most of the rest were nothing above £3 apart from the jasmine but i really wanted that cos my last one had died.

Boing - leaping plants here today 3 roses for £5 from Focus DIY whoops.:-)
8 Feb, 2011
you did better than me the kf ~ think i had better leap over to focus ~ do the rounds ~ a gardening hop instead of a pub crawl??
8 Feb, 2011
Leaping fivers, bouncing tenners and trolleys that are too small sometimes!
8 Feb, 2011
Very nice too but Minty wants to know how you have the nerve to place them in her favourite place when the weather is nice......
8 Feb, 2011
Wonderful vareities you have there Sticki, If I see you we can both leap over to focus then the pub crawl lol. As for the leaping fivers, I shall be right behind you ready to catch them hehe.
8 Feb, 2011
there werent very many 6d!! but your on for the focus leap and the pub crawl!
sorry lincslass and minty! i did put a cushion out for her later on the chair ~ she was quite happy then!!

No you don't need a lot of money if you know where to go, most garden centres are monsters for over chargeing except in sales then I can get them full price cheaper than their reductions. You should look out for little side green groucers we have one here called Joe Richards, eg, small yellow witch hazel 4.99 at Joe Richards, 9.99 at Dobbies same size same plant. Or look on the web for local nurseries they normally are the cheapest, where I get a lot of mine from especially for hanging baskets.

I had a good teacher my mum lol her mother was a business woman even though I have been one myself use to own a scrap yard with x, her mum owned cafes, hotels, snooker rooms, sweet shops in Wales and Bristol, London, she taught me how to take cuttings and grafting roses, her father was a trial grower for the big companies.

11 Feb, 2011
i wouldnt mind if i was handcuffed to a handsome man in uniform.
11 Feb, 2011
Well think of me working in a garden centre Sticki...plants just throw themselves at me and somehow I find them in the back of my car when I get home...how it happens I have no idea! lol :o))
11 Feb, 2011
aha i didnt realise you worked in one!
i know the feeling ~ i work in a supermarket and i have told my section boss that its worth their while to keep me cos i spend all my money that i earn in the shop!!!!
and then OH money in the GC!!!
11 Feb, 2011
Lol,Sandra and Sticki..I used to do the same..especially reduced stuff if I wanted them or not :o)Great business to be in,pay you with one hand and given back with the other.!I spent far less when I retired..:o)
11 Feb, 2011
thanks for that ~ i wondered how it worked!!
there's hope yet then?
11 Feb, 2011
I agreed with you Bloomer until I discovered plants on ebay..and Crocus (had some cracking plants from them)...to name a minute few...I darent tell OH how much I have spent on an Iris order...
11 Feb, 2011
he will never know ~ tell him you've had them for ages!!
11 Feb, 2011
Trouble is he is home all the time now and loves opening the parcels...while I try to grab the invoice!
11 Feb, 2011
Don't know about jumping plants, Sticki..it's the talking ones that I have all the problems with! They plead with me to purchase them, and I am so soft hearted that it is hard to refuse....lol\0/x
11 Feb, 2011
Now who's the barmey one...even Charlie doesnt say plants talk to him LOL!
11 Feb, 2011
Being barmy is an essential part of being on certain area's of Goy...I am well equipped....Mind you, Charlie only doesn't admit to it, not the same thing at all you know, Tet...you ask Muddy...lol\\0/x
11 Feb, 2011
Yes, I can see your point Flori, the first sign of madness is talking to plants..the second sign is them answering back!
12 Feb, 2011
hello everyone
love from poppy and forget me not
12 Feb, 2011
Its terrible, Sticki and Bloomer, I should work for plants instead of money because it all goes back in the till...lol! ;o))

12 Feb, 2011
I still have some lilies in the garden which I bought ,complete with terracotta pot,for 50p years ago...so much for a sell by date !..the pot is still in use too.I loved it when we started selling plants.:o)
12 Feb, 2011

13 Feb, 2011
We have those jumping plants up north too, Sticki. They're terrible in Wilkinson's! I only went in for toothpaste came out with Astilbe, Hosta, Paeonia, raspberry canes & blueberries!
14 Feb, 2011
