ah lovely Sticki, the statues add rather than detract from the beauty of the garden

they do ~ dont they ~ that isnt always the case but here it all comes together so well

Your photos are so gorgeous, Sticki, I've added this to my favourites: you really have captured the beauty of the garden.
It's 3 or 4 years since we were there, and as we stood admiring the rocky area around the lake, John's "head gardener" came up for a chat. He explained that they'd achieved the natural look by using three different sizes of stone - it was certainly effective!

Wow! I'm rather out of sequence so didn't know this was Ashwoods 'til the end, isn't it brilliant and it certainly earns its name. The sculptures compliment it too..loved it. Going to look at the first one when I can get the time:-)

This garden is open next on July 23rd - next Saturday! Best to check the web site first, but 23rd is on the list they gave me.

I'm not a lover of too many Statues , but these do add...I particularly like the the child sat on the boulder...looks very lifelike...and the Meer Cat, doing what Meer cats do...

I don't think there are any meercats there - is it the otter?

That's two Senior moments lol...I checked with H before I posted, and he agreed Meercat...but Otter is good...:)))

Definitely an otter, sorry I should have put a close up picture on but he looked so lovely in the setting. Can you make the picture bigger?

Not doing that again, I did that last week, and couldn't get back to normal lol....I'll accept Otter... :)) and nice he is too...

Here is the tip from a fellow Goyer given on another Goy blog to make photos bigger. Click on the photo then press Ctrl and + together. Magically enlarges the whole blog. Helpful when you do not have your specs handy.

I did that Scotsgran...last week...and I couldn't get the picture normal again...took me ages to reset the screen....:(((

Use Ctrl and - in the top right hand corner of the qwerty keyboard to go back to the original Crissue. Before you leave the blog. Hope this helps.

I nearly put the heating on yesterday I was so cold!

Lol, but really not funny, getting very frustrated now with this weather, hubby said he doesnt think hes ever known a colder July, we have had cloudy and dull but not quite this cold i dont think, mind you I think it sometimes feels colder in the house than it does outside :^(

I agree, but being cold inside puts you off going outside!

That really is a beautiful garden. You've taken some lovely pictures, Sticki T. As for the scone (and accidental (?) jam and CREAM ), how could you be lowering the tone? I definitely remember them taking Afternoon Tea on Downton Abbey. If it has Lady Grantham's seal of approval, who would dare to argue? Certainly not I!
