I don’t think I can add anything to this ~ the garden speaks for itself, words will only detract from its beauty, if you are able to make the picture bigger it may help:
I hope you enjoy this garden as much as i did, it is such a treat!

Daylily and I couldnt decide what this was ~ we hoped you would help?

Can you imagine this as the view around the front door?

i hope this doesnt let the tone down but i do like a nice cake when i visit a garden and Ashwood Nursery cafe/restaurant does not disappoint! this was a blackberry and almond scone [OH got the cream and jam by mistake!!]

ah lovely Sticki, the statues add rather than detract from the beauty of the garden

14 Jun, 2011

they do ~ dont they ~ that isnt always the case but here it all comes together so well

14 Jun, 2011

Your photos are so gorgeous, Sticki, I've added this to my favourites: you really have captured the beauty of the garden.
It's 3 or 4 years since we were there, and as we stood admiring the rocky area around the lake, John's "head gardener" came up for a chat. He explained that they'd achieved the natural look by using three different sizes of stone - it was certainly effective!

14 Jun, 2011

can't beat that lake - wow

14 Jun, 2011

14 Jun, 2011

Wow! I'm rather out of sequence so didn't know this was Ashwoods 'til the end, isn't it brilliant and it certainly earns its name. The sculptures compliment it too..loved it. Going to look at the first one when I can get the time:-)

15 Jun, 2011

18 Jul, 2011

I'm not a lover of too many Statues , but these do add...I particularly like the the child sat on the boulder...looks very lifelike...and the Meer Cat, doing what Meer cats do...

19 Jul, 2011

I don't think there are any meercats there - is it the otter?

19 Jul, 2011

That's two Senior moments lol...I checked with H before I posted, and he agreed Meercat...but Otter is good...:)))

19 Jul, 2011

Definitely an otter, sorry I should have put a close up picture on but he looked so lovely in the setting. Can you make the picture bigger?

19 Jul, 2011

Not doing that again, I did that last week, and couldn't get back to normal lol....I'll accept Otter... :)) and nice he is too...

19 Jul, 2011

Here is the tip from a fellow Goyer given on another Goy blog to make photos bigger. Click on the photo then press Ctrl and + together. Magically enlarges the whole blog. Helpful when you do not have your specs handy.

19 Jul, 2011

I did that Scotsgran...last week...and I couldn't get the picture normal again...took me ages to reset the screen....:(((

19 Jul, 2011

Use Ctrl and - in the top right hand corner of the qwerty keyboard to go back to the original Crissue. Before you leave the blog. Hope this helps.

19 Jul, 2011

Yes Scotsgran I did, but it didn't work for me unless I did something wrong...probably did... lol.... thanks for your help anyway...

19 Jul, 2011

Hi Sticki, are you going again, i think i might if i can? :^)

19 Jul, 2011

You lucky things:-) Thanks for that tip Scotsgran, I had seen it before , but had forgotten it lol. I should write these things down on post it notes, but I'd never be able to see the screen for notes!:-) I'm going to have a go now:-)

20 Jul, 2011

:)))) good luck...

20 Jul, 2011

No Daylily, I don't think so this time but maybe the next? If you go please will you put some pictures on here?

20 Jul, 2011

I'm half thinking about that teddy bear talk they are having too??

20 Jul, 2011

Hi Sticki, will definitely put some pics on if I go, will see what the weather like too, before i decide :^)

20 Jul, 2011

Yes please! I do hope it's nice - could do with an improvement on last time's showers!

20 Jul, 2011

Could do with an improvement on anything at the moment couldnt we, not been a very nice week and quite cold too!

20 Jul, 2011

I nearly put the heating on yesterday I was so cold!

21 Jul, 2011

My heating's broken...must get it sorted...not very good at sorting things...need Tetrarch, she's very good at that sort of thing:-)

21 Jul, 2011

Where is she?

21 Jul, 2011

Yes Sticki, i could have easily have put the heating on a few times, but it cant be justified can it in July!!!

21 Jul, 2011

No and I don't even have a fire I can switch on! Got a polo neck jumper on!

21 Jul, 2011

Lol, but really not funny, getting very frustrated now with this weather, hubby said he doesnt think hes ever known a colder July, we have had cloudy and dull but not quite this cold i dont think, mind you I think it sometimes feels colder in the house than it does outside :^(

21 Jul, 2011

I agree, but being cold inside puts you off going outside!

22 Jul, 2011

That really is a beautiful garden. You've taken some lovely pictures, Sticki T. As for the scone (and accidental (?) jam and CREAM ), how could you be lowering the tone? I definitely remember them taking Afternoon Tea on Downton Abbey. If it has Lady Grantham's seal of approval, who would dare to argue? Certainly not I!

26 Jul, 2011

thanks tuesdaybear! thats made me feel much better! im ok to have scones then!!
ate a lavender one on sunday at the lavender fields!!

26 Jul, 2011

What a fantastic blog!!! I love all those cool sculptures!

31 Jul, 2011

thanks pip!

i loved them too, how are you?

31 Jul, 2011

Why is no-one mentioning Pips new appearance? :-)

31 Jul, 2011
