Ihave been very busy this last couple of weeks making new cupboard doors and generally making improvements to the DIY project that I started back in August 2010 which some of you may remember.
I madethe doors and glazed and leaded them for storing my glasses. I was quite pleased with it but the more I looked it seems unbalanced somehow, so I decided to add glass shelves and make a cupboard underneath.
Then I thought why not go the whole hog and do the same for the other alcove.
I made the doors from MDF and added beading. The television is attached to the wall with a cantilever bracket and pushes flat to the wall when we are not viewing.
Poor old hubby, bet he`s thinking no more projects please lets get straight we always seem to be upside down.lol.
Never mind old chap have a look at the rose we bought, its got our granddaughters name.
“Sophie`s Perpetual” its lovely isn`t it?.
and it smells lovely on this very hot sunny day, hope your all having some of this glorious sunshine.

That looks fantastic - you don't want to pop round and so some for me, do you? I'd employ you any day of the week, love the combination of white doors and wooden top.

Dont mind at all Lil, as me mom would say - call me what you like as long as you don`t call me too late for me supper.lol.
Lincslass, yes thats the reason for buying it, trouble is we now have to find one called Laura and one called Zoe to avoid showing favouritism.
Hywel, you have talent with your pottery now I wish I could do that.
Thanks Libet, Sticki and Cristina your comments are much appreciated.

I can't believe you did this yourself, you are so clever and what a lovely cosy room.Did you teach yourself or go to classes. I love your inglenook fireplace and log burner. We have one very similar but the fire which looks like a log burner isn't real.We also have a large driftwood mirror which looks very similar to yours.

Hi Rose, no I didn`t do classes whatever project I do I google first to get ideas - seems we have very similar tastes.
Shirley I didn`t put the beams in Terry did those for me.

Thank you Adara.

Stroller, many years ago a delivery man asked if I would take in some beams for a neighbour ... I said ok but how heavy were they? ... When he picked up about ten in one go I realised they were 'fake wood' ... looked very real though! ... :o)))

Hi Stroller, what wonderful handiwork and your home looks very welcoming. I think your ladywife is so lucky to have you to do the D.I.Y. as I had to do the little jobs myself as my O.H didn't know a screwdriver from a hammer. In fact the boy's named the hammer ' the Irish screwdriver' after dad tried his hand at some handiwork. That say's it all!!!
