This little beauty was on the outside table yesterday when I went out to have my morning coffee, at least it was only coffee I was having because he would have put me off my lunch.lol.

I must admit its the first I`ve seen like this, its body was about as big as my thumbnail, it was quite beautiful in its own way.

Looks like it could be related to the sinister spider shown on the Wright Stuff TV show this morning ... which apparently ate all the way up a man's leg ..

That's what I was thinking Terratoonie. It looks like one of the spiders they are saying are dangerous.

It does not sound big enough for the 'False widow spider' that in the press but its as well to be cautious Stroller.

Oh Crumbs, don't do spiders, even the pic gives me the shivers.....

He or She is fantastic. I have a bit of a rule where spiders are concerned.
Small ones..no problem
Med ones...only in the conservatory or garden.
Big ones...definitely outside only!
With regards to he last one, I wouldn't kill it, if I could catch it...unless it's in the bedroom, then sorry dispatched.

If they are in my bedroom or bath, I get the hoover out don't care what time it is, day or night they have to go, people say they won't hurt you but the way my heart bumps when one is near me I'm afraid I MOST CERTAINLY do not agree.....I am absolutely petrified of them...

We've all got something we're scared of Lincslass..It's Daddy Longlegs ( Crane flies) for me they send me screaming for the hills lol!
My OH is forced to catch them if they get in the house and put them out.

11 Oct, 2013

Well OH picked it up and put it on the trellis and he still has his hand and arm.lol, can`t say how the spider is feeling.!!!!!

Yes Waddy those as well and moths, lucikily we didn't get many this year, I do a fantastic windmill dance if any come near me ,the blighters always know as well, you can have half a dozen people in a room and they'll dive bomb the one who is scared of them, lol.....

I've put "like" , Stroller, but do not like spiders , especially this time of year when they come indoors ! It was a good picture though !

12 Oct, 2013

I've got a big'un in my lounge, he keeps running across the floor lol and I just hope the dogs don't notice him:-)

12 Oct, 2013

I see these every year in the garden. I think they're just fat ! after eating flies all summer ...

13 Oct, 2013

We used to have one of those BA - came out every night at about 10.30, had a run round and then went back. Until one day the cat ate it.

13 Oct, 2013

That's what I'm worried about too:-)

14 Oct, 2013

Linclass, any chance of a video of the windmill dance.
as this sounds more scarey than the spidy.
Idon't like spiders but wont harm them, as they do a lot of good.

Reading all these comments I feel so lucky, because i don't mind either spiders or moths. The thing I really can't stand is leeches but luckily you don't often come across them! Oh, and maggots.

17 Oct, 2013

I dont mind either Steragram, the silly thing is its birds that I am most scared of I`m frightened of them landing on me which is daft because I know that they wont - but I do love to see them in the garden from the safety of indoors.

Ah, you can join Hywel then!
When our younger son was very small he was afraid that bees would go in his hair and would only go outside if he had a little hat on! He loved fluffy things so one day I showed him a bumble bee, and how furry it was. That cured him he was never afraid of them again!

18 Oct, 2013

Funky my reaction to them is very scary with or without my flailing arms, I would be quite happy if they stayed outside.....

18 Oct, 2013

Oh Phyl ... I could have done with a 'Warning - Spider' title to this pic ... I'm with Lincs as I can't bear them and have to be very aware that all the webs are in the garden in October ... yuk!
