Oh, that's wonderful! Now, I had thought you were further East Teds. I did actually go to Seaton in Devon on holiday when I was a child, and have been since to Cornwall. What a wonderful place...this is how I remember my childhool holiday with those wonderful views down to the sea. Stunning and just so nourishing to the soul!

Glad you all liked the Photos, mind you it all looks different when its wet and a gale blowing. We went down to West Bay one day last year, and we couldn't get on the beach for the sandstorm LOL

Yes, well there is that, but a single day like this one in the photos makes you forget all the bad days! Oh, I would just so love a sunny day!...sigh!

I know how you feel! its been so wet and cold here, it plays havoc with my RA. I'm stiff and sore all over, and I haven't even been in the garden. O! for some hot weather :(

Oh, now there you go you see....I really have nothing at all to moan about. I can't imagine what it must be like to be stiff and sore all the time with RA. I do hope you get some warmth in your bones soon Teds! At least you are in the right place in the UK for it!

Beautiful coast, I'd live there too! (except I worry about the clifftops with the dogs!)

Welcome to GOY Teds and many thanks for showing these lovely photos of your home surroundings. I'd have moved to Devon a long time if all my children and grand children weren't all living near me in Berkshire. We've had many holidays in the West Country and oh those fantastic coastal path walks, how lucky you are! Apart from the RA, that is :o((

Thank you Lily2 for the welcome, yes I do count my blessings I have diabetes, a heart problem (AF) and RA but whats the use of letting things get you down. We are only here once, so lets make the most of it. We should find a smile in very day, and give one away to others.

Lovely philosophy,if only more people thought that way.Pleased to say there are a lot on GOY who do.

Hi Hywel! Yes we are very lucky to live here, and the locals are very friendly. We have made many new friends since moving to this part of the country. :)

I can imagine your garden is a great tonic to you with your poor health...and your outlook re smiles is so good. I have often heard a quote "A smile costs nothing, and gives so much." How true that is and you'll find here on GoY there is lots of encouragement and reasons to smile.
Love your photos. I often yearn for the seaside and my hubby reminds me it isn't always a nice environment when the waves are crashing and everything is damp. He spent time years ago working in Devon and he did take me there in 1973 when on holiday here in the UK (we were visiting from Canada) and I thought it was the most beautiful place. Now we live in the UK and we've never managed to get back for another visit...retired now so we may get the chance soon :)

Love your blog Teds, photos are great. Its true that the sunshine makes a place look totally different. We live in suffolk right near the coast, and what a difference it looks in winter than summer. you'd think it was a different place, especially when the holiday makers arrive for their hols.
