Hi Carole ...
I'm glad you like these combinations.. :o)
Hello Popedot ...
Thank you. The fern with the variegations is Athyrium niponicum pictum Ursula's Red. I hope this helps x

Just lovely Terra, the colours and shapes a delight, its interesting the way natures colours complement each other whereas manmade shades can clash dreadfully......
The boys look very contented although young Truffle does have that look in his eye. :0))
15 Aug, 2012
Thank you, Pam ...
Yes, nature knows how to do it best :o)
Truffle was in an especially mischievous mood. Lol.
15 Aug, 2012
very nice Terra, love the sky shot and of course Conker / Truffle :-)
15 Aug, 2012

15 Aug, 2012

15 Aug, 2012
I too love the sky shot, and all your flowers and shrubs TT. and of course those two gorgeous boys. x
15 Aug, 2012
As ever , your garden and its occupants, Conker and Truffles included are lovely. Considering you have two dogs , your lawns are immaculate. Is that shrub rose The Bonica as it is very much like mine.
15 Aug, 2012
Thank you Grandmage ...
I'm pleased I photographed the blue sky yesterday before the rains came !
Thanks Rose ...
I don't know the name of the rose because I inherited it from my mother. I've Googled The Bonica and my rose doesn't seem quite the same as that one.

I was worried for a minute Terra, I didn't think I was going to see the boys. Phew, there was a pic after all. Everything and every one are all looking great. Jx
15 Aug, 2012

Thanks Sheila ...
I'm pleased with the variety of leaf colours.
15 Aug, 2012
Great foliage combinations,TT. I love the Hedgehog holly and the berberis photo, but the 'boys' always get the 'douze points' from me!
15 Aug, 2012
Thank you Tuesdaybear ...
I'm fascinated by foliage shapes and colours.
15 Aug, 2012
What wonderful colours, textures and shapes TT. Your garden is a joy to look at.
Particulaly liked the two apprentices!
15 Aug, 2012
Always full of admiration for people who seem to know what to plant next to what. I got it all wrong this year - Can I borrow your two planning assistants please?
15 Aug, 2012
Thanks Waddy and Steragram ...
Canine assistants available for hire ...
... at a good rate of Bonios per hour ;o)
15 Aug, 2012
Lovely blog and what a beautiful garden, Terra. You have interesting and impressive compositions of different plants. I am still a little bit worried seing so many plants and trees blooming second time this year. My rhododendron started to bloom again, too, yet its flowers are faded and petals defective. Do not remember that from earlier time.
15 Aug, 2012
Beautiful plant combinations TT, super blog, a Blue sky too and your last photo has a champion combination - two wonderful boys best of companions :o)
15 Aug, 2012
...forgot to say, that Golden King Holly and Hydrangea macrophylla composition wins :))
16 Aug, 2012
Great pics Terra, and I love all the toning colours..the last one, goes without saying.! ...very colour co-ordinated :o)
16 Aug, 2012
Thanks Katarina ...
The weather this year has been very unusual. Fortunately, my Syringa looks healthy. A bonus that it has produced some more scented blossoms. Interesting to know you like the Golden King/Hydrangea pic best. I almost didn't include that one !
Hi Neena ... Thank you ..
Terrier and Sheltie ... companion planting ... Lol.
Hello Sandra ...
Amazing variety of leaf colour this year !
16 Aug, 2012
wonderful selection of colour there Terra, yet another fantastic blog
16 Aug, 2012
Thanks Yorks ... :o)
16 Aug, 2012

16 Aug, 2012
Thanks Sue ... Lol. :o)
16 Aug, 2012
Lovely selection of textures and greens TT, thriving with all the rain this season.
16 Aug, 2012
Thank you, Dorjac ..
Yes, the foliage has benefited from our rainy summer !
16 Aug, 2012
Isn't it great when plans and combinations come together just how you imagined. You have some lovely plants there TT.
I always like to see how others put together their combinations for inspiration. I have one of my Japanese painted ferns grouped with two different heucheras and another with a heucheralla - different colours than yours but still produce a nice contrast with texture.
The top picutres has it all - colour, texture, shape and something for all seasons :)
16 Aug, 2012
Oops....forgot to mention the complimentary colours of your garden beauties in the bottom pictures :)
16 Aug, 2012
Hi Scottish ..
Glad you like the combinations.
This is a busy time of year for me, so little chance to look at GoY photos.
But I'm trying to keep up with the blogs !

What fabulous combinations you have put together Terra, a real tapestry! love the intricacy of patterns and colours in number one and the simplicity in number five, as always my favourite is the last one two very different peronalities living in harmony! great blog;0))
