Sunshine!

I can hardly believe it, the sun has been shining all day. I just had to get out and take some photos just to prove that things have flowered this year…if a little later than usual.

Finally, my Hibiscus has flowered! This is Lady Stanley

Star Gazer Lilies

Oriental Lilies.

I’m really pleased with this carnation as it has been grown from spurs taken from a cheap supermarket budget bunch. I’ve never tried to do this before, but you can bet I’ll do this again.

HollyHocksgrown from seed given to me by a kind GoY member. I intend to save some of the seeds and mix them with an almost black variety, also sent to me by another GoY member. Aren’t GoY members kind ?

Buddleia Black Knight.

Tickled Pink

Crocosmia

Phlox

Sedum, Purple Emperor, a gift from Bloomer.

The Lark Ascending…I think she’s trying to take off!

Thanks for looking and please ignore the dates on the photos, I’ve still not got the hang of how to put the date on my tablet photos.

Beautiful doesn't it lift our spirits a little bit of sunshine and a lovely wander around the garden. So much colour and still flowering even after all the dismal days. I love this time of year as it becomes cooler but hate the darker nights. Lovely blog enjoyed the flowers very much Waddy.

Lots of lovelies there! My Hollyhocks have finally started to flower too - the ones you sent me last year. Red and pink they are, and about 10 feet tall! :) Covered in Rust of course...but hey ho.

Glad to hear they're flowering Karen, but sorry to know you have rust.

Sshhhhhh, Waddy, not too loud.We don't want to scare it back behind the clouds. An unusually , dark, wet week down here until today that is.The sun is out but noticeably weaker than a couple of weeks ago but, the time is rolling on of course.
I'm glad you are getting some sunshine to bring out the beauty in all your lovely plants. Your Lillies have grown so tall. And the sedum looks lovely. You can see in this picture that Purple Emperor is actually quite a bit deeper in colour than my Stewed Rhubarb Mountain that we were discussing last week. It's a lovely plant and the gravel shows the blooms off well. Mine at my old house was planted alongside a couple of ferns and white Astrantia.

Some real beauties there Waddy - I love Lark Ascending particularly, and your lilies are gorgeous. Do you know the name of the purple and white fuchsia?

I'm being very quiet Paul, but that didn't stop the heavy rain this afternoon. I love my sedum Purple Emperor. I also bought another new one last weekend named just 'Chocolate' I can't wait to see how it develops.

Thank you. Lark is growing like mad I'm pleased to say. Sorry I can't help you with the name of the fuchsia, it's just one from a pack of 8 I bought labeled just 'trailing '

Julia: I love your garden. So much color and interest. Everything looks so healthy. Do you know the name of that blue Clamatis. I'll be shopping for one this weekend.

It's all looking beautiful ,Julia, and what a lovely mix of colours and plants..My Lilies are finished now,but it seems to have been a good growing year for them..I love those Nasturtiums..are they in pots,or growing up supports? and your fuchsias are wonderful...as is the Lark Ascending Rose..such a soft gentle shade..Adding to Faves,as it it so lovely to look back on ,when you need a cheerful moment :o) Are we still ok for Wednesday? xx

Your garden is a picture of colours Waddy, love the Stargazer lillies, mine finished ages ago,but I had them in pots, and they didn't grow very tall, also plagued with the dratted Lily beetle, said I'm not going to grow them next year!but I might try them in the ground.Well done with the carnation cutting, I do a lost of that, from bunches bought from supermarkets. Look forward to seeing your chocolate sedum!

Thank you Paul. The clematis is Beauty of Worcester. I'm glad you like it. It flowers often twice a year.

Thank you Sandra. The Nasturtiums are just in the garden covering some alpines which have stopped flowering and looked rather untidy. I just pushed in a couple of seeds. I have some left if you'd like some. Still OK for Wednesday :)

Thank you Gralew. The lilies are all in pots at the moment, but they've just about out grown the room, so I shall be putting them into the ground next year. Pics of Chocolate sedum to follow once it has become established. :)

The fourth pic above Lark Ascending, which I love by the way, is a fuchsia, do you know its name? I have one very similar which appears to be hardy and can't remember which it is:-)

Possibly Army Nurse or Dollar Princess. Army Nurse is taller than DP, which only gets to about 18" but makes a good mounded bush.

I'll Google them thanks Stera:-)
