Lovely to see all the plants in flower! Is this summer fairly typical of your climate or is this an exceptional year? Lots of us here in the UK think this year has been very strange - though it brought us abundant fruit crops! Lots of us feel that many plants have become confused with the seasons & are flowering out of sync! Is that your experience, too?

I think we often have out of season happenings in the UK, like the year we had snow in June which took out all the blossom on the fruiting trees & worried the top fruit growers to death, I think that was mid 80's.

1976 lol it snowed in June then we had a heat wave, unbelievable. lol I am so old I can remember it well - mainly because that year changed my life. lol :O)
This year spring arrived very late and everything was behind but unlike most of the country our side has been quite dry, had some rain but not too much to spoil being able to get out into the garden most days. Chillier than usual but that suits me fine. I do not like it too hot hence why my favourite seasons are spring and autumn. The plants never seemed to catch up after the late start to the gardening year, everything has been late or delayed into getting their flowers. All gone nearly now just a few roses hanging in and of course the Asters and Fuschias are still in colour. The trees are holding on too as we have not had a frost yet here. Right have a great weekend everyone - off to get my trusty fork out and the secateurs. \:O)

You have summed up the year perfectly, Barbara. Interestingly, although we are on the opposite side of the country, our experience seems to be very similar. I was quite surprised to hear Monty say they'd had a few frosts already. Frosts are usually fairly rare here, although just a mile inland that's not the case.
