A lesson learnt.

I know a little boy aged just two years old who is very dear to me.

A few weeks ago, we had taken him to an indoor play centre where he and his twin brother should have felt safe and secure and had a really happy time.

We watched his activities closely when we noticed a little girl go up to him. She was aged about 5 or 6 and she tried to get him into a corner and not allow him to move away. She had already been upsetting other children, all smaller than herself.

We were about to ‘rescue’ him and say something to her when our little two year old just looked at her , put his hand out in front of him and said ‘No, no!’

Even at the age of two, he sensed that what she was doing was wrong and in his own way, he stood up to her.

A lesson for us all I think.

Love and best wishes to everyone who has been saddened by recent happenings here.

xx

What a sad world we live in now. Life is far too precious and short and should be thankful for what we've got. Friends too are precious .

The other concern is for the little girl, who at such a young age is trying to exercise control over other children. What's going on in her little life, I wonder to make her so assertive/aggressive? At any rate your littlle one was ok, thank goodness. It reminds me of a time at playgroup when my daughter was about 6 months old and her brother about 2 and a half. Another toddler came over and shoved Rosanna to the floor in order to wrest some toy from her hands. My son went over to the other boy and, with steam pouring from his ears, shook his finger at the child and said, 'You do NOT do that to MUMMY'S BABY!! I was so proud of him for standing up for his sister and for not responding by hitting the other child, but that's his way, reasoning even from an early age. He's a lawyer now!
