Part 1.
These pots are in a row outside our kitchen door. They need a lot of watering and feeding but are worth it!
Part 2 Shades of pink.
There are quite a lot of pink colours in the garden – I wonder why?!!!
There are more but I think you’ve seen enough!!!

I expect the colourful pots are a pleasure to look at outside your back door. I like the mixes very much, W'rose. I understand the watering dilemma - we have it too so there will be a certain amount of 'culling' over the next few months. I also know what you mean about certain colours dominating unexpectedly. I seem to have a predominately purple garden at the moment!

I know what you mean about plentiful pots outside the back door. I divide plants then am reluctant to throw away the divisions so end up being potted up and guess where they end up!

Wow Chris, they all look amazing and good that the pots are near the house so that you don't have to go far to water them!
What is the plant in picture 10 ? I couldn't decide whether it was a dianthus in front of another plant or the plant itself.
All the pink flowers are lovely and I love the pink rose.
My border seems to be more yellow, orange and purple. xx

Your pots of pink are, all looking beautiful ,Chris, and I love different shades of pink too, and how healthy they all look, with your dedicated watering and TLC. It must be lovely to see all those outside your kitchen door.:o)
I seem to have quite a mixture of colours now,but I am quite happy to have them all, whether they 'go together' or not. They don't in Nature,so she knows best.. Lol
In view of the forthcoming heat forecast,I am going to move my pots from the Gravelled area later today,to a side path always in shade with a high wall at one side.as it's North facing,so hopefully ,they will appreciate a cooler situation for the coming days. I hope you and all your plants, manage to keep cool too. ! x.

definitely in the pink then.
Lovely collection of plants but bet the watering takes quite a while every day in this weather.
love that soft pale pink of your Sidalcea [or is it a lavatera?].
The roses are lovely shapes.

Thanks to all of you for your lovely words of encouragement. You are all very kind.
Picture 10 is a Sidalcea which is a very pretty shade of pink.
Wonder what the next few days will bring? My fingers are crossed for every one of us and our precious plants and wildlife.

Wow, Chris! You’ve a wealth of colour in your garden! So much in bloom, very bright and cheerful too. Lots of pretty pinks, definitely a very pretty theme going on here! Your roses have that vintage vibe, so sweet, I do love the one in Pic 18. 2nd from last…gorgeous! The last flower - sorry I don’t know it’s name - so very elegant, another beautiful one.

Thank you Kate. The rose you like was bought from Rosemoor Gardens but was only sold as a trailing patio rose with no special name to it. We also bought a pale pink one and a red one - all doing well without a name!!!

Gorgeous Chris, I do like your colour choices … not dissimilar to mine!
I wonder if you could name pic 10 for me? Love it 🙂.

Lovely, all of it. I too love the frilly Sidelcia. You have some
beautiful roses also.

Picture number 10 is the perennial Sidalcea. Thank you
Sheila and Feverfew for your lovely comments. I do hope it will rain very soon.

Thanks for the ID Chris. Yes, a downpour would be very welcome … I’ve never seen my plants looking so sad 🙁.

Mine too, Sheilabub, I’m only watering those in pots & the rest are looking sad like yours. I am cutting back the
perennials that have flowered, leaving a mat of foliage just to protect the roots, less for them to support up top.

no 10 is the Sidalcea. I have a darker pink one and they are lovely hardy plants.
18 Jul, 2022
Thanks Eileen … I used to have it but didn’t recognise it.

Thanks Chris for the info! It is really lovely! xx

Must say pink is my favourite colour in the garden… your flowers are beautiful. Especially the ones in picture no 10. Could you remind me of its name? Also is that Rose ‘For your eyes only’ in picture no 13? I’m thinking of getting one so wondered if it’s in a pot in the ground. Thanks

Chris, this blog is going on to my favourites and, for me, the second photo is so serene, love it.

Amsterdam the name you mentioned for that rose does not ring a bell but if I find out what it is called I will let you know!
Shirley thank you, I am so pleased you enjoyed the blog.

Sorry about being late as I've only just now come across this blog of yours.
Your pink roses are very lovely! That lovely pink Hollyhock is a little more unusual having "pink" on the edges of the flowers!
I hope your plants survived the 40C temps we had on July 18/19th.

They certainly will need lots of watering - and repotting too in time! The frilly pink hollyhock is fantastic. It all looks really beautiful.
