Flowers from ‘Bloom and Wild’

Not an advert!!!

Yesterday on my birthday I received some letterbox flowers from ‘Bloom and Wild.’

When they arrived they looked very sad and very squashed.
However today they have revived lots and look beautiful.

I am wondering whether any of you have had the same experience as me?

There is a label inside warning ‘Sh the flowers are asleep’ but to be honest they looked worse than that!!!

Here they are today

I am glad they turned out alright in the end!!

Chris, belated happy birthday wishes to you.
Your flowers look wonderful and
there was a feature on the founder of this company in a weekend paper. Here is the link to it, should you wish to read more about it. They now sell flowers in eight countries. https://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/markets/article-11587767/Ebullient-boss-flatpack-florist-Bloom-Wild.html

They are beautiful, I'm pleased they perked up for you ....

Thank you ALL for your very kind wishes and comments. I shall look at the report now Shirley.

Shirley it has become the most popular online florist so obviously people do forgive them for the flat appearance of the flowers when they first arrive - as I will in future!!

Yes, I had exactly the same experience last year, Rose. I had used them extensively as gifts for other people and was shocked at the condition when I was sent some myself. I complained and was sent a second batch which looked just as distressed as the first ones and I haven't ordered since. They did revive eventually.

I've had several gifts of these and depends on how long they are in the post. My friend orders them on a Tuesday/Wednesday so the flowers are not in the post over the weekend. They have always revived after a day and last for at least a week.

I sually re-cut the stems and then stand them in water so over 3/4 of the stems are in water.

Ange, that is interesting and it must be a deliberate move of the company to do the flowers in this way. Not the best of sights when they are first open but mine are looking lovely now.
Sbg - that is very good advice and I shall trim the stems today or tomorrow, thank you.

I always trim stems and stand in water.

Chris, if I drop a subtle hint, perhaps I shall receive some of these in the post!

Yes, so do I Ange - that is I stand the STEMS in water, ha ha.

Chris, belated happy birthday, and the flowers are looking gorgeous now - you are lucky. I also have a birthday close to Christmas, and don't think I can expect much in the way of flowers. Your friends have obviously chosen well :)

Shirley don’t bother being subtle just show him the website with them on!!!

Sheila it is NOT a nice time to have a birthday but when it arrives it isn’t TOO bad!!

I really just want to find a bunch of daffodils in the shops one day soon!

They are lovely Chris and so glad they weren't spoilt!
I see you haven't got your log burner on yet!
I hope that means it is still mild there in Devon! xx

Chris … and especially when there’s a postal strike. I had 3 cards yesterday, and my special day was on the 19th December, but they were a welcome surprise!

6 Jan, 2023

one of our local florists has daffs from Cornwall for sale £2 a bunch. That's in East Yorks.

6 Jan, 2023

Rose, thank you. We only light it in the evening and then I have to move the flowers!

I think your date BEFORE Christmas is slightly better than mine coming AFTER it!! It is still not a good time of year for a birthday and I am sorry your cards were so spread out.

Sbg I shall look out for some tomorrow!

I agree Chris, my sister’s is on the 29th and she says it feels like an anti- climax 🙁.

Back to the letterbox flowers, have you tried Serenata flowers? I've found them OK so far. They also do bouquets.

7 Jan, 2023

I shall look at Serenata flowers Stera - thank you.

Happy belated birthday, Chris! 🎂
Your flowers look gorgeous!!!!
I have used several, must admit, Marks and Spencer were the worst!
I found Bloom and Wild fine, even Moonpig which I've used the most - my family have always been very happy when in receipt of their letterbox flowers as well as bouquets!

Very belated birthday greetings from me as well, Chris! Sorry I missed your day! I have a nephew & a grandson whose birthdays are on 22nd December! I also have a nephew & a niece, (brother & sister but not twins!), whose birthdays are also a day or two before Christmas!

So glad the flowers perked up for you! They are gorgeous!

Kate interesting to read of 'M and S' because I have been told that before. Never thought of Moonpig so will bear that in mind. Thank you.

Balcony I have sympathy with all your young relations as it is not the best time for a birthday. The only advantage when I was little was that I was never at school on my birthday and there was usually a pantomime to go to as a treat!!
