Our August Garden

I don’t usually post many blogs at this time of year because our garden is not at its best!
Everything seems to have grown too much and the trees in particular seem weighed down with a huge number of leaves!
We are waiting for James, a tree surgeon to call round today to see what he can do to tame some of our rather large trees! I wanted him to see them covered with foliage!
I have a few photos to show you so please come and have a wander with me and be prepared to duck in a few places along the way!!
This is our pond area which we have worked hard on. It was surrounded by montbretia which we have removed and replaced with a variety of small perennials.
Looking across the lawn.
A corner filled with daisies!
A hedge filled with Japanese anemones!
Hydrangeas seem happy after lots of rain!
Hiding in the hedge.
Phlox also hidden away!
Our rather large apple tree!
Our rather large tulip tree!
Our rather large Wisteria!
See what I mean?!!
I will take pictures in the autumn when the trimming begins!

Oh my, 'rather large' sums it up perfectly! Such a good idea to have the tree chap round when they are in full leaf too. I used to help an elderly gent with his garden, he had two Apple trees, side by side, shaped into the most attractive mushroom shape. I can picture him standing beneath them, knocking apples off with his walking stick!!

What a wonderful garden I could happily stroll round breathing it all in.

Thank you all for such lovely, encouraging comments! I fear it is going to be a very messy autumn in our garden!!
