I don’t usually show what is edited in out my photos, but in the spirit of “wart” photos, here is first a Hibiscus. It is kept on top of the house oven. What that is, is an old style oven that is like a giant pizza oven, and the inside is made of lava rock. It is open to a section of the house, but provides very little warmth to the house. On the outside, there are tiles over it and I have a couple of platforms to set pots on. The hibiscus is new and I haven’t got around to putting it in the ground yet. It is named ‘Sri Lanka’.

There is a pot of nerines behind it, a piece of hose, and just not an attractive photo.
Since it is in a pot, it can be moved; so over to a rock that has grass behind it, and it changes how everything looks.

Of course I then had to pull out the backgrounds and put it up against them.

Then it was on to a lily. There was a store that sells agricultural things more than garden supplies, but they do sell various bulbs in open boxes with a photo and name that will soon be forgotten. I got some, planted them in a large pot with legs and waited for flowers. It is right by the oven and gets lots of sun. Just look at the mess it has to contend with.

I moved slightly and got a better picture.

Then I pulled out the backgrounds and got the best photos.

I have been playing around with the various colored backgrounds for my daylilies, stark close-ups that concentrate on the flower.
