I tried a new poppy this year. It is called ‘Amazing Grey’. It is on the small side and is more pink-ish than a blue-grey. The petals are always crinkled.
One of my pink lilies finally opened. Since it is in a pot and can be moved. I gave it the background treatment.
And then there is a Heliconia schiedeana. Related to Strelitzia, the foliage is similar.
Of course there are a lot of daylilies still going.

And ‘Fuoco del Sole’ are both by Armin Eder in Germany.
A type that is called Edge-no-Eye can be seen in ‘Raspberry Rouge’. It lacks a distinctive separation of the eye from the rest of the petal.
And named after the extinct and crumbling volcano in my village is ‘Pico Matias Simao’

There aren't a lot of edge-no-eye type daylilies around. The heliconia is the most cold hardy one, which still means no frost.

Heliconia is an interesting name - it's the title of one of C S Lewis books, Heliconia Spring but its such a long time since I read it I can't remember anything about it...

You do go in for the spectacular Wylie - the frilly lily is amazing! Raspberry Rouge is unusual isn't it?
