Daylilies May 2023

I wanted to show a couple of things that would get lost in single photos.
First, I had made the cross of Crystal Blue Persusion x Pico dos Porcos. Both are small DIPs and Pico dos Porcos is one I registered. Today, there were 2 flowers open on it that are of an unusual combination. One is polymerous while the other is a double.
Seeds from the same pod can give very different results. I made the cross Honky Tonk Blues x Unk and here are the results:
Then there are the usual photos:
Chama Valley
Center of the Universe
And for those who like the applique types, Jungle Queen
One of my original crosses is (Fuoco del Sole x Life is a Highway).

beautiful combination of characteristics Wylie. There are a lot available these days. Do yours suffer from H. gall midge or do you not have this pest?

I haven't had any problems with gall midge - one of the advantages of living on a remote island. That and most of my daylilies are ones I created. I got a base population of registered types and then went self-sufficient when daylilies were banned from importation because of the olive pest/virus.

They are very beautiful flowers and so many different types ... Interesting to cross them yourself.
