Daylilies today

Mid-season is over for me, but there are a lot of daylilies in flower. Some are blooming and others are reblooming.
Right outside my front door is ‘Guarding Gnomes’.

On the other side is ‘Lunacy’

And behind that is the 9" ‘Life is a Highway’.

On the way to the backyard is a cross of [(Wild Horses x Heavt Metal) x Unk].

In the main area there is [(Blue Eyed Bandit x Whale Tails) x El Aventura]

(Joy of Life sdlg x Star of India)

(Core Values x Don Herrell)

And the one I have submitted for registration this year under the name ‘Pico Rachado’, which means Cracked Peak. It is a large outcropping I can see if I walk up the street a little ways.

Thanks! The third photo, 'Life is a Highway' is of the pollen parent for my new registration, 'Pico Rachado'.

Interesting to note that you've recorded the parentage of many. I think that's good and it will be useful to know in future crosses.

When registering a daylily, you have to put the pod and pollen parents there. It helps when you get a trait that seems out of character to be able to see if a grandparent or great-grandparent had it. The List of Cultivars on the American Daylily Society site is set up so that if you want to see the offspring of a particular cultivar, it is easy to search. Or if you want to search by traits, there is also that in the Advanced search. Even by hybridizer (try Young-W.)
