Daylilies

I like how my garden changes every day with yesterday’s flowers fading and different ones opening. Sleeping in the morning sun is Slinky. She was abandoned last year in one of the fields up the street from me. She survived hunting for birds, mice and lizards. When fall came and it was raining every day with the wind blowing, I started feeding her and finally got her to make my house her home. She stayed indoors all winter enjoying the warmth and food. Now she is starting to go outside again, but sticking close to the food bowl.
One of the bolder flowers that is open today is ‘Just Like Candy’
‘Rings of Triton’ has a really nice two tone edge.
For a solid color, there is a F3 DIP, [Buster Ruster x (Fuchsia Four x Grape Splash)] x Sebastian the Crab.
A bold pattern is (Squirrel Beater x Frankenflower).
Today I got the news that ‘Pico Rachado’ is officially registered. Here it is today (on the left) with (Spacecoast Sea Shells x Free Wheelin’) (on the right).
And if you are wondering what would have happened if I had reversed the parents, here is (Life is a Highway x Core Values).
In the last blog I showed the pollen parent of ‘Pico Rachado’ (Life is a Highway), here is the pod parent, ‘Core Values’.

I saw her slinking along the walls in the fields trying to hide, so I called her Slinky.

Congratulations on the official naming of your Day lily, Wylie!
It's a lovely colour - as are all your Day Lilies! Slinky was fortunate in finding you! 😆

Slinky was wandering around a neighbor's field, which the neighbor doesn't mind because it is full of corn and pumpkins and a cat being there scares off the rats and pidgeons. It came time to eat, and Slinky was back at the house ready to be served.
I really like the new daylily, but next year's will be even better.

Looking forward to seeing pictures of it then!
