Even a rainy day is colorful
7 comments
Another day with rain and sometimes fog, but the flowers still open. Right outside my back door I have a large trough type container with lilies, and another stalk of yellow ones is opening.
Nearby is a dahlia that I had plucked the bulb out of the container the lily is in, and threw it into the weeds that were growing behind my house. I noticed it last year, and when I cleaned up the area this year, I kept the plant and now it is flowering again.
One of the first daylilies I bought many years ago was "Palace Garden Beauty’.
‘Pico do Falco’ is open, again.
From the first year I began hybridizing is (Unk x Lacy Doily).
Showing off a really nice eye is (Core Values x Life is a Highway). This is 6 inches across, 33" tall with 4 branches. 17 buds!
Here is another Lily that is open with a nice color. Scented.
The Hibiscus ‘Cosmic Dancer’ is also open, again.
And open is Helconia schiedeana, even if the leaves are beaten up by the wind.
Since I was cutting (pruning) a lot of trees, I made a deer for the garden. What I got was a place for a cat to sleep – it is the black and white lump on the deer’s back.

You have some lovely Day Lilies. Love the deer you made. The cat is welcoming the new addition to its territory. Ts, for sharing with us.

Nice to see raindrops on your flowers, they are very pretty. Rain is refreshing - we haven't had rain here in Wales since early May, and even then it was only a few showers. My garden is parched.
I love to see cats, they can make themselves comfortable in the strangest places :)
