I agree, and at least you grow the plants that tend to not mind the wet Mossy. Your hostas are looking good!

Ahhh Mossy, soooo enchanting - as usual. Is that an evergreen clematis creating the arch please?
Also, are your plants mostly in containers? They all look in such perfect condition always. I have a lot in containers but I'm not sure I'm the best earthmother for them as many look rather sad, I'm afraid.

Thank you Minihoney for your very nice comments, sorry for the delay in replying as I'm not on this site very often due work and house renovations.
Yes, it is an evergreen clematis, Clematis Armondii and two different types of climbing rose, red and white. They are supporting an old metal structure.
Most of my plants are not in containers, but planted in the ground. I have 6 in pots (apart from the patio).
If you think I can be of any help, don't hesitate to ask.

Wonderful, big Hostas in pots? How did you manage this. I have some big ones in the ground. Dig them up for pots?
wonderful picture, so inviting. what a touch you have...

Flint? I will have to try it. The slugs just love the Hosta. They are such eaters! I suppose you can keep them in pots all winter. I could try that in a cold-proof pot. I had thought that it might be better to dig them up or I suppose one could buy them??? Decisions, decisions. Thank you for answer. Still think your arch is so graceful, and natural looking.
