Bumblebee Conservation Trust win the National lottery award for best env...

This is such good news. My daughter's father-in-law kept bees for years and there has been a big decline over the last few years. What a great award...we do need our bees for healthy pollenating!

I've just noticed your 12th August blog, Arlene...so note you must be a beekeeper. I'll have to get reading your blog and catch up.

Brilliant news Arlene so glad the votes helped, hope people realise how important to our food chain these are and the knock on effect with out them.

This is really good news, Arlene! I'm glad my vote helped them to win this award! We humans wouldn't be around for long if it weren't for the selfless act of pollination that the bees do for us!

Which reminds me, today while I was in the greenhouse down on the allotment an enormous bumble bee came in. I'm sure it's the biggest one I've ever seen - & I've seen a fair few in my 6 decades! It had a little trouble getting out but after a few minutes it found the doorway. It could also have escaped through the few "invisible" windows where the glass hasn't been put in yet.
