Success, my first poppy has survived seed-hood and is developing well
Gently opening up in the sunshine – Yippee
Fully open – what a glorious sight – I am so pleased
2 hours later – Josie’s chosen snack before bedtime!
Next morning…
…Josie’s into pink for breakfast!
My lovely new clematis – first a tight bud….
Opening just a bit more…..
Now I can see the colour…..
It’s beautiful…. And high up on the fence – safe!
She wouldn’t, would she?
Best move all those canes, just in case!!

Yes, Mookins, the cane have now been used for my tomatoes and I have barricaded the poppy plant as other buds are appearing.
Hi, Donnah, this greedy tortoise is called Josie, the others are Jubilee and Little 'Un.
You're right, Toto, tortoises are very determined and I knew if I moved Josie away from the plant she would just return when my back was turned :)

Pets are soooo funny aren't they? People who say pets are boring don't know what they are missing! Lol!
(some plants do better for being deadheaded, alright, eaten while alive! Lol!)
