*What a lovely suprise I had this morning, I went to answer the door and there was a David Austin Delivery Van, the driver was carrying a lovely decorated box up the path “A present for you” he said, But who from and why its not my birthday or Harry’s?
Didnt take me long to open the box and this is what I found;0)
Beautiful Roses! 15 of them in Pink ,Cerise and Cream
I scrambled through the box and found a card, they were from Our Lovely Son Simon and his partner Clare, it was their thank you for going to meet them at the end of their marathon walk at Robin Hoods Bay on completing the Coast to Coast walk 192 miles in twelve days, we were so proud of them and spent a lovely two days with them before bringing them back home.
Well back to the roses. I soon had them trimmed and in a vase [the perfume was wonderful] then it was where to put them?
They look nice in the Conservatory!
Mmm its maybe too warm and they shouldn’t be in sunlight [when we get it!]
Will try the lounge
On the Table?
Mmm nice but could get knocked over!
What about in the Fireplace?
Thats better, Just right!
Thank you Simon and Clare for brightening our day!
Watch out, to follow “The Coast to Coast Walk” with Simon and Clare.*

Thanks everyone for all your lovely comments;0)
Sorry about your son Amble Simon was telling me that 35 per cent of the those who started at the same time had to drop out, I dont know how they finished as some patrts were really gruelling and they had blisters on blisters as well as cramps and tired aching limbs,He did say it was knowing we would be there at the end was a great motivator.
BB what a pity I didnt realise at the time but yes we could have met up with you that would have been great, we love Robin Hoods Bay and surrounding area so if we do decide to return we will let you know ;0)

Well done to Simon and Clare on completing the Coast to Coast walk! Their present to you of those lovely roses was a great way to show their appreciation for you meeting them at the end!
I was once in Robin Hood Bay - back in 1971! I was on holiday in Whitby & we went there for the day. I particularly remember that I went into the sea & had to wade out for what seemed like miles before the water got deep enough to reach my waist! As I'm not a good swimmer - nor was I then - I got scared the tide might start to come in & I would be drowned! So that memory will always be associated for me with Robin Hoods Bay!
