No frost here today but we barely escaped with temps of 1-2C! I've taken various photos already & I will take more before they finish for this year.

I'm now making another Fuchsia standard, this time with 'Beacon', a variety I made 3 standards of many years ago & that were killed during the winter of 2009-10.

Thanks Shirley x

Amazing sky.
Your temperature in the morning was like ours .We had 3 deg . but brrr! too.

I only wish I could smell them, unique scent you could pick out anywhere.

Hywel and Julia, thanks for liking this pic. This morning we have a ground frost and 2 degrees at 8am, brrr!

Oh dear, not the dreaded Greenfly already ... :o(

It's easily done ...

We have a heavy frost this morning so I don't what mine are going to be like!

Lovely, Balcony, they are so colourful. I am going to visit our local nurseries soon for some bedding plants, but they don't open until Easter.

Yes, the air felt icy so I just did a bit of tidying in my greenhouse.

Thanks, Shirley! Most years I have a few Hyacinths flowering on the balcony together with many other spring bulbs.

To be truthful it's a bud that has developed very, very slowly all winter. I accidentally broke off a bud while moving it around in the mini-greenhouse where it has spent the winter. :(

Yesterday I noticed 100s of greenflies on the leaves which I immediately squashed!

Thank you, Lindak! At present I have lots of flowers , especially from the Pansies on the balcony railings. :)

Thank you Linda and Sheila.
I am pulling out hundreds of seedlings from everywhere every year. I do not keep them.
The little fairy door just showing my silliness .
I have several porcelain ladies living in the bigleaf maple.
They all have a name. That happened long time ago but they still exist.

Lovely ... the scent from mine wafts across the garden ... gorgeous!

Stunning flowers!

They are lovely.

I agree with Hywel.

Sheila, it's one of those shrubs that is a bit 'Marmite'! I saw some standard Photinias the other day, very strange sight!

Thank you Rose. Sometimes it’s indoors, sometimes out! It has no drainage holes, so usually it’s inside. I keep having to tip this arrangement up. But lately it hasn’t rained much.

Looks a lovely place, I would Love to visit it one day. Have been to Shaftesbury & the bones of Edward the M, were there. Ty for sharing your visit, very interesting.

We have inherited a hedge of this, right across the front of our front garden. I wasn’t sure at first but now I really like it!

Yes, so many beautiful places SBG. We must cherish and protect them! “Fight, Fight, Fight” as someone said. :)

That's very early for a Fuchsia, but nice to see it.

its a lovely place, used to visit when eldest girl lived in Frome. There are some really beautiful places in the UK aren't there?

Excellent to see they are growing for you!

I so agree with you Hb, the only tall ones I have left are right at the back of the garden so that's where they can stay!

Absolutely… thanks David!

There are mills around the area with a lot of history behind them and they used the river for water power.
