Just realised I hadn’t shown you the “fruits of my labour”…….first helpings of potatoes and carrots…..and how delicious they were…..that was last week….
Today I lifted more potatoes and the first crop of beetroot. I was a bit anxious about these as the last time I tried to grow some…..they tasted like soil!!….not nice at all……but these are delicious…….had a couple of strawberries but not as many as Balcony….I’m quite envious……
I picked a half a pound of goosberries off the bush….not bad for the first crop; I’ve frozen them until I decide what to make with them…….crumble?…..pie?….fool?……the choices are endless!!!….
a few broad beans were picked….but they are a wee bit too small yet….still plenty to come…
We’ve had plenty of salad leaves…..am most surprised the local rabbit population haven’t helped themselves…….lol
