Well this bank holiday has been a mixed bag of weather, Saturday mainly wet, Sunday I weeded between heavy showers and Monday was just wet. Luckily my boss makes us take Tuesday off as a days holiday and I’m glad he did…. Finally a sunny day! Lawns cut and lot’s of weeding done in a short sleeved top.

The first photo was taken from the bedroom window on Monday afternoon. I was supposed to be cleaning but spent more time looking out at the wet garden

The next photos were taken yesterday (Tuesday) a lovely bright sunny day. Very annoying for all those who went back to work after Monday.

The Bottom garden mirror

The remains of the Crab Apple blossom

The Bottom garden and steps after much weeding

The Slope and Bottom garden starting to really fill out again. Lots of lush growth but the flowers are still very slow to follow

I watched this Geranium macrorrhizum open in the sunshine

The back patio and pots

Lithodora diffusa ‘Heavenly Blue’

The path to the side garden

My favourite Aubrieta ‘Agnete’ in the side garden

Rhodanthemum ‘African Eyes’ also in the side garden. This has turned out to be a lot hardier than I expected

A quick sit down on the bench to enjoy the view. I must deadhead the poor Hydrangea in the corner of the photo at the weekend!

A shady corner in the front garden

And a few of the front garden pots

This one contains Aquilegias that were a lovely gift from Karensusan63

Today is back to cold, grey skies and it is trying to rain but I don’t mind after having one full, warm day in the garden

Your collection of pots is always a pleasure, and I still hanker after your mirror it just looks so right, we did a gate but it is not right , need some work doing (money) my African eyes did not last the winter, your garden always looks just perfect, so well designed, really lovely Annella..

It looks beautiful and your hard work shows. Everywhere looks so neat and well cared for and I really like your pots too.

9 May, 2012

wow, such a display! should add at least one zero to the house value!

How big is the bottom garden? I'm betting it's not as big as it looks, thanks to your very creative planting scheme and the glorious seclusion.

Stunning as always Annella :-))
I bought a lovely little erodium last week which I remember seeing, and falling in love with, for the first time in your garden :-))

9 May, 2012

I'll make your lawn better Karen, just invite me over Lol!!!

9 May, 2012

Simbad which Erodium did you buy, Spanish eyes or Fran's delight? The pretty leaved Geranium you sent me has really filled out this year on the slope, can't wait for it to flower.

9 May, 2012

will PM you...tomorrow...have to go and eat now! :) x

9 May, 2012

Me too!!!

9 May, 2012

I have never seen such razor sharp lawn edges in my life!! Pity it is all ruined, totally ruined by leaving those tatty dead flowerheads on that poor hydrangea!!!! I know your neighbour will agree with me!

;))))))....sorry Annie...too much Gin I'm afraid. No, seriously, it all looks perfect to me. Your slope is an absolute lesson in steep bank planting! The mirror is just 'to die for' and your pots are simply perfect! :)) The Crab apple still going strong too, in spite of all the rain. A few days of sun and the flowers will be zinging!

9 May, 2012

Thank you Karen! That poor Hydrangea has never waited this long before x

9 May, 2012

Ours too Annella, it looks dreadful ......ours not yours!! lol Karen you on the gin already, mother's ruin and all that!!

9 May, 2012

I love that garden, I like slopes and steps, mine is rather flat. It does make for a very interesting garden having differing heights and levels. I love it Annella, I too am green with envy. lol :o)

9 May, 2012

Dotty it is the last of a few Hydrangeas to be trimmed late and it will most probably be the best one this year! Thank you Olive, that's a big compliment after seeing your garden. AND Karen keep off the gin Lol!!

9 May, 2012

What a superb garden full of wonderful plants and shrubs. Your pots are to die for - How many have you got? They are just wonderful. Thanks for sharing these pictures with us :o)

9 May, 2012

9 May, 2012

9 May, 2012

10 May, 2012

Yes that's the one that Karensusan sent me, it's very pretty

10 May, 2012

Lovely set of pictures. It is nice to see gardens from bedroom windows it can make it so much more interesting when you then see different pictures of the plants/garden, it all falls into place as to where that part/plant is! Love your garden and the pots.

13 May, 2012

Your photos are always so beautiful and your garden so perfect, you make me feel totally inadequate, Annella. I hope you're ashamed of yourself ;-))))) Strangely, your lithodora and saxifrage are on my current "wish-for" list - simply gorgeous, but the garden shops are stuffed with annuals, and no alpines or perennials at all. Sigh.......

13 May, 2012

a lovely maintained garden, well done:-)

17 May, 2012
