It's Lily Time In My Downunder Garden.

Our mid-Spring month will soon be drawing to a close, which means the dreaded Summer is not too far away now. I’m making sure I enjoy every minute of the springtime display at the moment while it lasts.
The pots of Asiatic and Oriental Lilies out in my Courtyard Garden look fabulous right now.
There are some wonderful perfumed Oriental Lilies.
There are also pots of Olde World Lilies, which are a cross between an Oriental and a Christmas Lily.
My favourite Lily amongst the little collection growing in pots out on my courtyard garden though, is most definitely this L.A. Hybrid ‘Eyeliner’.
One of the Asiatic Lilies I potted up last year has returned and is putting on a great show out in the Shadehouse Garden.
The Hemerocallis Parade has begun out in the front tiered garden beds, and so far there have been appearances from …
Hemerocallis ‘Blackberry Jack’
Hemerocallis ‘Jamaican Midnight’
Hemerocallis ‘Velvet Eyes’
and Hemerocallis ‘Archangel Eyes’.

What a lovely display,Bernieh..I think that 'Eyeliner 'is my favourite too..so many lovely colours of Lilies there.I also love the pink ones,on your 2nd and 3rd pics..It made me smile about the dreaded summer approaching..we feel the same, but for totally different reasons ! Not good here today..snow on the east coast ,and minus 2 degrees here...:o( Would you like to swap ? Lol.

You're most welcome, Diane. I'm recently new to growing Hemes. I bought my very first one just a couple of years ago, and have loved them ever since.

Bloomer, I might swap for perhaps one season! I know I wouldn't miss our Summers at all, but I'm not sure how I'd go in your freezing conditions. We don't see the mercury dipping below 15 deg C much here!!!
That third photo shows my favourite of the pinks. That's a double named 'Elodie' and it's a lot smaller than the other Asiatics.

Thanks for the name of that one,Bernieh.it is so pretty ..and you will be pleased to know it is now a 'balmy' or 'barmy' 5 degrees..depends how you look at it..with optimism,or pessimism ! Lol..

Yeah, I'm going with 'barmy'! I'd be so rugged up I'd look like the Michelin man.

Lol,Bernieh..join the club ! saying that,it has been a lovely sunny day,but still cold..at least we didn't get the snow here :o)

Lily heaven :-), 'Archangel Eyes' is one for the wish list, lovely pictures.........

They're beautiful. I never knew there were all those different types ....

Homebird, I only joined the Hemerocallis fan club two years ago and I'm smitten with them. I only wish I had somewhere else to plant lots more. They really do so very well here in some tough conditions.

Bloomer, I suppose the snow fall won't be far off for you now. Having only ever seen snow once in my life before, I enjoyed the sight but I imagine it loses its appeal when you live with it every year especially if there's heavy falls.

Simbad, I'm glad I'm not the only one who loves 'Archangel Eyes'. I've been on the lookout for something similar, but haven't really found one yet. I feel the poor thing needs a friend.

Hywel, I'm amazed at the variety of Lilies. As I said I had never grown any type of Lily at all until just over two years ago. I'm amazed at the new ones that are in the catalogues every year. Oh for lots more room for garden beds!

Superb collection you have there Bernie I love them, Archangel eyes is a beautiful colour thank you for sharing.

I'm glad you enjoyed these, Neellan. It is a small collection. I only have four pots of Liliums, but each year I add another few bulbs ... and another pot. I won't be able to move in the courtyard soon, lol!
I have about 15 Hemerocallis all crammed into one end of a garden bed, and I so wish I had somewhere else to plant more.

Hard to pick a favourite they are all gorgeous :o)

What a wonderful variety of Lilies you have bet the aroma knocks you out a tissue lol

Sixpence, the fragrance out in the courtyard at the moment is just heavenly! I love it.

You lucky girl, I love the aroma too but I have fits of sneezing I had a star gaizer a few years ago in my living room better than an air freshner but I had to have it put out, every morning fit of sneezing.
30 Oct, 2012
Oh you poor thing! That's something I've never had to suffer, so I'm rather lucky.
30 Oct, 2012
At least you can enjoy them more than me hehe.

Thanks Katarina. 'Archangel Eyes' is special for me because of its lovely pastel colour.
