Bits and Bobs of a blog

A little bit of everything some old some new.
First is Geranium Dalmaticum this some may recognize on the edge of a small water feature made back in 2011
The miniature water lily is making headway this year, did nothing last they do like Sun.
This Hosta ‘Remember Me’ as it should be
I have several plants one of which has appeared to possibly revert the leaves start normal then over a few weeks they loose all the variegation from the leaves until I am left with plain blue/green leaves.
This is occurring on just one plant ,All my stock has originated from a single plant purchased 7/8 years ago ,even now there are new leaves forming fully variegated. any thoughts
This is basically the Hosta trough included is Allium Narcissiflorum
and below up close ,this is the first time flowering and quite impressed.
Love Delphiniums, mine are always in containers as it’s the only way I can keep them clear of slugs
Salvia ‘Hot Lips’ another favourite this one is in its third year.
Another project from 2011 remember the the sliced up snowdrop bulbs
Two full years on this what has come from the miniature bulbils that formed on each slice back in 2011
have now repotted them and a good chance of some flowers in 2014.
Clematis also in a container
This is a visit to the front garden not a place I often venture but I do like this Fuschia with its upturned flowers
Enjoy
You have been making me feel bad not including Jamie so how about this one of the first I took of him

How lovely everything looks, and so healthy and prolific..Love your Delphs, and your Fuschia is a stunner.. I had one similar with upturned flowers, like yours..Is it Walz Jublateen (spelling? )by any chance? Mine never had so many flowers..some wonderful 'bits and Bobs' in your lovely garden Bjs.:o)

Great blog Brian...interesting bits and bobs. Remember me is so beautiful! I guess you must be right about reversion back to one of the parents. Interesting to see it happening! Can't wait to see my little one grow up to be like the good one. It's growing well, and stiletto has a flower forming on it!

Fantastic as ever Brian and I so love your fuchsia.
As you all know I love my fuchsias.
But never seen one like that before.

Lovely garden. I like the Host 'Remember me' very much, and the Fuchsia. Mine are not out yet.

how long has the hosta been reverting, Bjs? Is there a plant near to it that might be affecting it?
I had both plain green and cream-striped Spider plants, but now I've only one cream-stripe left, so I can only assume that the cream-stripes that were near the plain ones have reverted - the only cream-stripe I have was on the other side of the room, and presumably beyond the influence of the others.

Ref the Fuschia I am told that his variety was on sale in Wyvale garden centres about three weeks ago the name may well be on there's anybody visiting. I would like to know as well.

I love that water feature, Brian - what a clever idea. All your plants are looking wonderful but I especially like the unusual allium. I do love alliums. I don't think your fuchsia is Waltz Jubelteen as I have that one and it doesn't look anything like that, unless mine was wrongly labelled! It's a beauty - yours, I mean. Mine isn't in flower yet but is a lot less striking. No Jamie?

Love the fuschia. And the salvia. And the stunning delphiniums.! I gave up on trying to grow delphiniums but might try them pots now that I've seen yours.

Cute baby Jamie! Lovely photos, and as always so many beautiful plants.
I think that fuschia is my favourite. Great idea to grow delphiniums in pots to keep them from the slugs, can't try that though as I've run out of pot space!:)

Jamie is just a cute now as he was back the Brian - although I'm sure he knows that already ;)
Lovely plants - re Hosta and its colouring. I remember reading somewhere about reverting back but can't find the website I read back then but found this for you
http://www.hostasdirect.com/hosta-info/variegated-hostas
hope it gives you a bit of information.

Scottish
I have read that and it goes a long way to answering
What is happening ,did not realize that the colouring was that unstable in Hostas.

A lovely blog Brian, its nice to James again too, he looks so comfy! Your Delphiniums are gorgeous must try growing them in a trough mine always end up eaten too. I love Salvia Hotlips and the pink geranium, the white and green striped Hosta is a cracker, thanks for sharing;0)

I love all your pics but my heart skipped a beat when I saw you salvia hot lips as I lost mine during summer as my zinnias grew to approximately 1,2m tall and covered my salvia hot lips. I believe the plant dried up as it had received insufficient water. Hopefully I find one during spring. Thanks for sharing your beautiful pics.

Very interesting reading Brian, re the Hostas, as I have a large collection now I shall be careful where I site them in future, also splitting them. Love the Allium.
