I think you could use self - levelling concrete, you can buy it ready mixed in small amounts just add water, ST.
I loved the programme, just that I wanted to spend more time in that garden like last week.

I enjoyed this week's programme much better than last week'S....It was a lovely garden but the lady was "overdressed and over-made up". This week's owner was much more "natural" :-))

I liked the willow fencing and paving stones too..Sticki..and you will get quick setting concrete at a fast track checkout ! Sorry, couldn't resist that :o)
I also think the programme isn't on long enough,either..

Fast setting cement can be found at B+Q in small quantities. I enjoyed the programme but was over far too quick

Ive recorded it Sandra, didnt like last weeks too bitty and like you say contrived ["Here's one I made earlier "] springs to mind !!

I really love the prog. I did like last weeks garden thought it was amazing, I tend to look into the gardens and see the plants etc, blow the commentry!! Tonight was just fab. I liked the mosaics.
17 Jun, 2011
I missed last week's programme but really enjoyed this week's. Will have a go at making some pebble design mosaics with my grand-daughter - as she loves this kind of thing.

i was a bit disappointed with last weeks as well but loved this one, and yes it was too short, am going to b @ q for the cement. we need more programmed like this. use to like skys uk tv gardens pestered them to reinstate but to no avail i dont think tv caters for gardeners enough.
18 Jun, 2011
Interesting to see your thoughts, lets hope it continues in the same format as this weeks..sounds like B& Q are going to be busy ..I bet lots will be having a go at the
mosaics..:0),and I agree,a great project for children too..in the school holidays !..I used to always watch the gardening channel on Sky..can't understand why it had to go either..

I thoroughly enjoy seeing well planned and well planted gardens and thought last weeks was very well done and this weeks too - both very different 'feels' to them but both good.
All the mosiacs, on this weeks garden, were a bit 'overkill', having one or two would have been better than having them dotted everywhere .... it's a bit like in a house - where stencils have been used on the walls in every room !!!
Quality not quantity !!!

I liked the planting last week as well,Louise, but it was more the way the programme was presented, which let it down,I think..I agree about the mosaics, nice as they were, you wouldn't really want so many..a bit hard underfoot too,I would imagine..:o)..

I'm enjoying the "Love Your Garden" programmes ...
I've added this blog to GoYpedia "Mosaics" ...
Maybe more ideas on there to help ... :o)

Thank you for your advice drc and kfun, I shall Beas quick as I can bloomer!
I think I must be like you grandmage - I don't listen to all of it - probably has it's advantages! But it is also too short - time in a garden shouldn't be rushed and this feels rushed.
Let us know how you get on mariek.
18 Jun, 2011
I agree Sticki, I would like to watch for at least an hour, less time for the sport channel then,LOL.
18 Jun, 2011
They could just show pictures of the garden and close ups of the flowers so you could pretend you were sitting in there.
18 Jun, 2011
I liked it better this week too, last week made me laugh the price of the things they suggested! It seemed more relaxed this week and the garden was lovely made me sigh ...
18 Jun, 2011
I wonder where you get the quick drying cement from? and the stones? I suppose B & Q ! must have a go at those sometime.
18 Jun, 2011
And me grandmage. We should have a GoY workshop
18 Jun, 2011
I'd like that! Sticki.
18 Jun, 2011
Another event for London 2012? I wonder how we could work it out? Lulu makes mosaics wonder if she would be interested too?
18 Jun, 2011
Sounds good, I did think of Lulu too, reckon Lu. could run the workshop?
18 Jun, 2011
I'm hoping she might - perhaps if we ask nicely?
18 Jun, 2011
i enjoyed the programme... could do without the cookery bit though...
18 Jun, 2011
i love cookery but even i wondered why that bit was on. didnt mind but i wasnt sure it fitted in??
18 Jun, 2011
I love the programme but like others it isnt on long enough. The cookery part seems a waste of time - the time would be better used giving a more indepth look at the planting.
18 Jun, 2011
Agree that time used on the cookery item would be better invested showing us more of the gardens ...
On TV there are too many cookery shows .. not enough gardening shows ...
18 Jun, 2011
i enjoyed it to and love cottage garden look, loved the willow fence and also the paving stones she made, beautifull garden which you would have to be in every day to keep it looking like that, wonder if its near my brother in bracknell, loved the house, was fab.
18 Jun, 2011
Do you realise I live in Bracknell too? And Jonathanhales?
So many people think our town is just concrete but it is very green.
Sanbaz - that was on the northwest edge of the town, near the turning to Binfield if you're coming down the A329(M)

Eh up...better late than never. I've enjoyed all the programs, just wish they were longer and went into more plant detail etc:-)
13 Jul, 2011
Hiya Ba..\o/.I am the same, just not long enough, are they?
but I have enjoyed them too..:o)
13 Jul, 2011
I watched a new 'gardening' prog, channel 5, 7.30 last night (Wednesday). Thought it was awful. They made a beach garden with hot tub in a new build garden complete with sand. Bet local cats will love that, and did things to a 'celebrity' garden as well:-( I'm still shuddering lol:-)
14 Jul, 2011
Sounds horrible..but my Grandson would love it ..Lol...can you imagine trailing all that in the house? :o)
14 Jul, 2011
Rather not think about it lol:-)

I liked it, that willow fencing was very attractive and perfect for the setting but what I liked best were those little paving stones the lady made - I hope I can remember how she did it - where do you get quick setting concrete?
