The Eden Project...part 1.

We visited this wonderful place last week, while we were on holiday…It exceeded all my expectations..and I would love to go again sometime,as we didn’t manage to see it all.Armed with my new camera, and Russell had his too,we took lots and lots of pics..so I have the task of sorting out
the best of both..I will possibly do three parts,as there would be far too many on one,but as I have tried to remember what are GoY members favourites as well,I will
do my best..sorry if I miss some of you out..but I’m sure you will enjoy seeing how this place has blossomed in the ten years since it opened,in 2001..although the project was started in 1999..
This is the journey from the entrance, down to the bottom, and a leisurely stroll towards the Rainforest Biome. There is lots to see, before we enter,so I will take you inside next time..enjoy the scenery..
This was our first sight of the Biomes..The ones to the left, are the Rainforest ones, with a smaller covered grass roofed link Biome in the centre,to keep in the heat.leading to the Mediterranean Biome on the right.
Beautiful display of Hydrangeas on the walk down to what was the bottom of the quarry..and the land train to ferry people around,if needed.
Lots for the children to do here..they were loving it..
There were lots of information boards like this around every area, which was very interesting for everyone..
Glad we don’t have real ones like this!
lots of veg…
Not a real one,but you knew that,didn’t you ? :o)
See you in the Rainforest soon…wear something cool ! Lol.

Thanks Bloomer, it had only been opened a couple of years when we went and I loved it, always wanted to go back but never managed it. Really looking forward to seeing more. I remember getting very wet in the rainforest but still enjoyed it...

Great blog Bloomer! I agree with Pixi...run away from that bee....!! They seem to cater to a lot of people, and it's nice they thought to keep the children entertained too! Got my mac and wellies ready for the rainforest!!

I think it was about 2002 when we went having been advised to go early we visited before the tour buses and had the tropical biome not quite to ourselves but certainly sparsly populated I'm sure now it would have grown so much and the whole area in your photo's was mostly unplanted or very small-- like Lincs-- I'd love to go back and see the changes.....

I would love to go too. It is on my list. :o)

Thanks Cinders,I suppose it is an ever changing place..you will have to re visit sometime..its just making a definite decision to do it..
You would see a great change now,Lincslass. My daughter went around that time, and the sides of the quarry were almost bare..not any more . :o)
There are so many places there, for children,Libet..and with it being an educational project, they are learning without realising..Lots of' hands on' things for them to do..just great.
Glad you enjoyed it Frybo.Another tick on my wish list completed..:o)
Thank you,Carol..we had the best day out ..and the sun shone, which made it even better. It had rained really heavily during the night,so we were very lucky :o)
You would also see a vast difference now,Pam..and I was in awe of the planning and attention to detail everywhere..put it on your 'to do' list :o)
Linda, you would love it..I know it is a long way for you,but if you are ever on holiday in Cornwall, you must go.We were in Devon, and still had to travel over 2 hours, but it was part of the package, and we didn't mind...another hour there would have been about right, but we saw most of it..
It will look so different to you now,Shirley...I will try and get my other pics sorted this week sometime..:o)
Thanks Lulu..You will have to go for a short break down there,as it would be lovely for a day out...Ideal as a birthday gift next year ? Lol.
