My local drama group put on the stage version of Calendar Girls last week: sold out every night, and SO brave as they're all shapes and sizes!

Lovely thanks Bloomer..... we really enjoyed Kew gardens, parts of kent were lovely but needs regeneration in places like Margate........

It's years since I was in Margate..we stayed in Cliftonville,just outside...it's a shame a lot of our seaside places are going the same way..nowhere better if we had the weather..and if they had the money to spend ,doing them up ...

They have the Turner Gallery right on the seafront near the harbour but its so modern it sticks out like a sore thumb with not even a carpark, nice cafe but the whole exhibition rooms were closed for a new showing, doesn't seem to help the area at all
The trees in Kew will be full of autumn colour soon, some were turning, we were so lucky with the weather

These new buildings never seem to fit in with their surroundings,I agree..They have just built some huge new ones here,for the Uni..just horrible..and we have so many lovely stone ones ..just too expensive ,I guess. but I'm sure the Architects could have come up with something more pleasing to the eye..
Kew would be lovely to see soon..also a trip to the Lake District would be good...stunning in Autumn :o)

It certainly didn't Richard..I'm just wondering what the lady in the picture will wear now? ..I think the smile might have gone ! Lol.

I think the lady will be wearing her thermals and knitwear now if her weather is anything like we have here...lol ;-)

...if it's anything like here, it'll be layers...

...a layer of buttercups/daisies (it's good to have something frilly, to trap the air and make you warm), followed by a layer of something more substantial, like the fig leaf...then topped of with rhubarb...or, even better, one of it's giant relatives...

It's 2°C in the morning here...and 25°C in the afternoon!...It's a good idea to be able to peel on and off!!! :)))

good thinking,Karen..:o)..I think the hat and scarf needs to stay..maybe a roll of bubble wrap and fleece would be needed later on..you are aware the daisies/buttercups will die off soon,aren't you? .:o))..It has been pretty cold here too,and very windy..lots of rain this morning as well...that's such an extreme of temps you are having.....
